Ordinance No. ~~ AN ORDINANCE INCREASING APPROPRIATIONS IN THE FEDERAL AWARDED ASSETS FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $38,421.63 FROM AVAILABLE FUNDS, FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING THE PURCHASE OF SUBMACHINE GUNS AND ACCESSORIES FROM AMCHAR WHOLESALE, INC FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS SECTION 1 That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for the Fiscal Year 2003-2004 and in the Budget of the City Manager there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Federal Awarded Assets Fund in the amount of $38,421 63 from available funds, for the purpose of funding the purchase of submachine guns and accessories from AmChar Wholesale, Inc. for the Police Department. SECTION 2. That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect. Ordinance and Purchase of Submachine Guns and Accessories from AmChar Wholesale Incorporated for the Police Department RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council 1 Authorize the purchase of submachine guns and accessories from AmChar Wholesale Incorporated for the Police Department based on overall low total bid of $38 421 63 Shipping cost is included to the receiving point with payment due 30 days after receipt of invoice and 2. Adopt the supplemental appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the amount of $38 421 63 in the Federal Awarded Assets Fund from available funds DISCUSSION The Police Department will use this purchase to replace older models of the Heckler and Koch submachine guns MP5A3 and MP530 and accessories being used by the SWAT officers in the field The Invitation to Bid described the gun manufacturer and models preferred by the department.
