AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND EXTINGUISHING AN EMERGENCY
ACCESS EASEMENT AT THE SOUTH END OF DAREN DRIVE, BEING
A PART OF LOTS 77 AND 78 OF BLOCK J, FOSSIL PARK ADDITION
PHASE III, CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS; PROVIDING FOR THE
REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID LAND• THE RETAINMENT OF
EXISTING UTILITY EASEMENTS, REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS
SECTION 1
That an emergency access easement at the south end of Daren Drive, being a part of Lots
77 and 78 of Block J Fossil Park Addition Phase III of the City of Fort Worth, as filed m Cabinet
A, Shde 6432, Plat Records of Tarrant County Texas, an addition to the City of Fort Worth,
situated in the heirs of W W Thompson Survey Abstract No 1498 and the Milly Gilbert Survey
Abstract No. 565 and having a variable width of 11 71 feet to 30 7 feet and a variable length of
50 feet to 53 48 feet, and containing approximately 650 square feet, per Exhibit A attached
hereto and incorporated herein by reference, be and the same is vacated and extinguished.
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the land m the above-described street and alley rights-of way is released
and shall revert to the adjacent owners as provided by law
SECTION 3.
That all existing utility easements shall be retained by the City until such time all utilities
located m that easement are relocated at the owner's expense.
SECTION 4.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5.
That this ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.

VA-004-008 Adoption of Ordinance Vacating an Emergency Access Easement at the South End of
Daren Drive Located in Lots 77 and 78 of Block J Fossil Park Addition Phase III
RECOMMENDATION.
It is recommended that the City Council.adopt the attached ordinance vacating an emergency access
easement at the south end of Daren Drive located in Lots 77 and~78 of Block J Fossil Park Addition Phase
III as filed in Cabinet A, Slide 6432, P R.T C T having a variable width of 11 71 feet to 30 7 feet an variable
length of 50 feet to 53 48 feet containing approximately 650 square feet.
DISCUSSION
Lynn Meyers of Carter and Burgess acting on behalf of Fossil Park Joint Venture has requested vacation
of the above referenced emergency access easement because it is not needed by the proposed subdivision
to the south. The easement was originally platted to serve a proposed multi-family development to the
south however this property is now being developed for single-family use and the access easement is not
needed
The Engineering Department, Real Property Services Division states that a fee of $1 00 will satisfy the
public interest; the applicant has paid this in full The City Plan Commission recommended approval of this
request at its meeting on April 28th 2004 An acceptable replat has been received.
This request is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 4
