AN ORDINANCE ORDERING A RUNOFF ELECTION TO BE HELD IN
THE CITY OF FORT WORTH ON JUNE 19 2004, FOR THE PURPOSE
OF ELECTING A CITY COUNCIL MEMBER FOR CITY COUNCIL
DISTRICT 5 TO SERVE THE REMAINDER OF AN UNEXPIRED TERM
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH, TEXAS
SECTION 1
A special election for the purpose of electing a City Council member for City Council
Distract 5 to serve the remainder of an unexpired term was held on May 15 2004 No candidate
received a ma~onty of the total number of votes received by all candidates for the office.
SECTION 2.
The City Council hereby orders that a runoff election be held on Saturday June 19 2004
at which all qualified voters of City Council Distract 5 may vote for the purpose of electing a
councilmember from Distract 5 to serve the remainder of an unexpired term until the regular City
Council election in May 2005 The candidates m the runoff are the candidates who received
the highest and second highest number of votes m the main election.
SECTION 3.
(a) Robert Parten, Tarrant County Elections Admimstrator shall serve as the early
voting clerk. Mr Parten s official mailing address is.

(b) Sylvia Glover Acting City Secretary of the City of Fort Worth, shall serve as
chief deputy early voting clerk.
SECTION 4
(a) Early voting by personal appearance shall be conducted beginning June 2, 2004
and continuing through June 15 2004 at the following locations m the Crty of Fort Worth. A
voter entitled to vote an early ballot by personal appearance may vote at any of the following
locations.

June 2-4 (Wednesday Fnday) 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
June 7 through 11 (Monday Friday) 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
June 12 (Saturday) 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
June 14-15 (Monday Tuesday) 7.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m.

SECTION 5.
The locations of the polling places for the election are set forth on Exhibit A attached
hereto and made a part hereof. The polling places will be open on June 19 2004 from 7.00 a.m.
to 7.00 p.m.
SECTION 6.
This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.
