ELLIS ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS• SECTION 1 THAT a 20-foot wide by 550-foot long alley situated along Lots 1 through 24, Block 102, M G Ellis Addition, Fort Worth, Texas, and located between Elmwood Avenue and East Jefferson Avenue, as recorded in Volume 63-A Pages 19 and 20, Plat Records, of Tarrant County, Texas, and containing approximately 11,000 square feet, and as more specifically described in Exhibits A and B attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference be and the same is vacated and extinguished SECTION 2. That the fee to the land in the above described vacated alley is hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent owner as provided by law SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed SECTION 4. City of Fort Worth, Texas Mayor and Council Communication DATE REFERENCE NUMBER LOG NAME PAGE 5/21 /02 PZ-2378 06VA-02-015 1 of 1 SUBJECT ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE VACATING AN ALLEY LOCATED ALONG LOTS 1 THROUGH 24, BLOCK 102, M G ELLIS ADDITION, CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS (VA-02-015) RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached ordinance vacating a 20-foot wide by 550- foot long alley located along Lots 1 through 24, Block 102, M G Ellis Addition, Fort Worth, Texas, and located between Elmwood Avenue and East Jefferson Avenue, as recorded in Volume 63-A, Pages 19 and 20, Plat Records, Tarrant County, Texas, containing 11,000 square feet. DISCUSSION The Fort Worth Independent School District, owner of the above described adjacent properties, has requested vacation of the referenced alley to facilitate the expansion of yard and building areas and to replat with the adjoining land Existing improvements include fences and water and sanitary sewer lines Appropriate utility easements will to be retained The Plan Commission recommended approval at it's public hearing on March 27, 2002 The Engineering Department, Real Property Services Division states that a fee of $1 00 will satisfy the public interest.
