ORDINANCE NO. ~/ ~~
AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND EXTINGUISHING A PORTION OF
HARWEN TERRACE LOCATED BETWEEN BLOCKS 33 AND 36 IN
THE BLUEBONNET HILLS ADDITION, VACATING AND
EXTINGUISHING UTILITY EASEMENTS ALONG LOTS 1 THROUGH
10, BLOCK 33, AND LOTS 1 THROUGH 10, BLOCK 36, BLUEBONNET
HILLS ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS;
PROVIDING FOR REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID LAND; REPEALING
ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS.
SECTION 1.
THAT a portion of Harwen Terrace located between Blocks 33 and 36 in the
Bluebonnet Hills Addition and measuring 265 feet long by 50 feet wide and containing
13,250 square feet; and utility easements along Lots 1 through 10, Block 33 in the
Bluebonnet Hills Addition, and Lots 1 through 10, Block 36, measuring 265 feet by 8
feet and containing 2,120 square feet each, Bluebonnet Hills Addition, Fort Worth,
Texas, as recorded in Volume 3886, Page 152, Plat Records, Tarrant County, Texas,
as more specifically described in Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated herein by
reference be and the same are vacated and extinguished
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the land in the above described vacated street portion and utility
easements are hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent owner as provided by
law

That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect upon adoption

PROPERTY DESCRIPTION
Being a portion of Harwen Terrace, a 50 0 feet wide public street, dedicated by the plat of Blue
Bonnet Hills Addition, an addition to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas according to
the plat filed m Volume 388 / B, page 152, Plat Records of Tarrant County, Texas, said portion of
Harwen Terrace being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows
Commencing at the "+" cut m concrete set at the northwest corner of Lot 5, Block 33 of said
addition, said corner being the intersection of the east Right of Way (ROW) hne of Stadium Drive
and the South ROW line of South Hills Avenue;
Thence N 89° 57' 00" E, 288 04 feet along said south ROW line of South Hills Avenue to the
northeast corner of Lot 6, Block 33 of said addition and the intersection of the south ROW line of
South Hills Avenue and the west ROW line of Harwen Terrace, a 50 0 feet wide public street and
the Point of Beginning of this tract;
Thence continuing N 89° 57' 00" E, 50 0 feet along the south ROW line of South Hills Avenue to
the northwest corner of Lot 5, Block 36 of said addition and the east ROW line of Harwen Terrace;
Thence S 00° 03' 00" E, 265 00 feet along the west line of Block 36 and the east ROW line of
Harwen Terrace to the southwest corner of Lot 1, Block 36 of said addition and being in the north
line of an abandoned street formerly called West Sutler and Vacated by City Ordinance No 3015,
Thence S 89° 57' 00" W, 50 00 feet to the southeast corner of Lot 10, Block 33 of said addition,
Thence N 00° 03' 00" W, 265 00 feet along the east line of said Block 33 and the west ROW line
of said Harwen Terrace to the Point of Beginning and continuing 0.3042 of an acre of land or 13,250
square feet of land.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached ordinance vacating a portion of Harwen
Terrace located between Blocks 33 and 36 in the Bluebonnet Hills Addition measuring 265 feet long by
50 feet wide, containing 13,250 square feet (as shown on the attached exhibit), and utility easements
along Lots 1 through 10, Block 33, Bluebonnet Hills Addition, and Lots 1 through 10, Block 36,
measuring 265 feet by 8 feet, containing 2,120 square feet each (as shown on the attached exhibit),
Bluebonnet Hills Addition, Fort Worth, as recorded in Volume 3886, Page 152, Plat Records, Tarrant
County, Texas
DISCUSSION
The Fort Worth Independent School District, owner of the above described properties, has requested
vacation of a portion of Harwen Terrace and utility easements as shown on the attached exhibits
The Engineering Department, Real Property Services Division states that a fee of $1 00 will satisfy the
public interest. Reviewing City departments and public utility companies have raised no objections to
this request. A replat is required An acceptable replat has been received
This request is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 2
