ORDINANCE NO. (~''`' ~~
AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NUMBER 14827 AND
VACATING WINTHROP AVENUE, DEDICATED BY PLAT OF
RIDGLEA APARTMENTS ADDITION, AND RIDGEWAY MANORS NO.
3 ADDITION, AS APPROVED BY THE CITY PLAN COMMISSION ON
JANUARY 26, 2000; PROVIDING FOR REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID
LAND THAT IS VACATED; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS.
SECTION 1
That Ordinance Number 14827 is repealed in its entirety
SECTION 2.
That Winthrop Avenue, dedicated by plat of Ridglea Apartments Addition, Fort Worth,
Texas, as recorded in Volume 388-D, Page 53, Plat Records of Tarrant County, Texas, and as
dedicated by plat of Ridgeway Manors No. 3 Addition, as recorded m Volume 388-L, Page 3,
Plat Records of Tarrant County, Texas, and as more specifically described in the attached Exhibit
A and incorporated herein by reference are hereby vacated and extinguished.
SECTION 3.
That the fees to the land in the above described nghts-of--way are hereby released and
vacated and shall revert to the adjacent owner(s) as provided bylaw
SECTION 5.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 6.
That this ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.

SUBJECT REPEAL OF ORDINANCE VACATING SUNSET DRIVE AND WINTHROP AVENUE
AND PROVIDE CORRECTION ORDINANCE
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached ordinance repealing Ordinance No 14827,
attached, vacation of Sunset Drive and Winthrop Avenue dedicated by plat of Ridglea Apartments
Addition, Fort Worth, Texas as recorded in Volume 388-D, Page 53, PRTCT, and, Ridgeway Manors
No 3 Addition, as recorded in Volume 388-L, Page 3, PRTCT, respectively; and adopt the attached
ordinance vacating Winthrop Avenue and the north-south section of Sunset Drive as approved by the
City Plan Commission on January 26, 2000
DISCUSSION
In review of proposed development plans for the Alta Ridge Apartments project, it was discovered that
the east-west portion of Sunset Drive was incorrectly included in M&C PZ-2334 dated October 16, 2001
and in the vacation ordinance of the above noted streets This was contrary to the action of the City
Plan Commission and the recorded replat of the subject property recorded in Cabinet A, Slide 7101 and
corrected by a correction plat recorded in Cabinet A, Slide 7862, PRTCT Adoption of this revised
ordinance will resolve any potential conflict regarding the legal standing of this street right-of-way The
portion of Sunset Drive retained for public use is improved and has not been blocked or barricaded from
public access
