HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 15223.~ v Ordinance No ~~~J AN ORDINANCE INCREASING ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE SOLID WASTE FUND UP TO $500 FOR FISCAL YEAR 2001-2002, UPON RECEIPT OF THE GRANT FROM WAL-MART, FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING THE ILLEGAL DUMPING PROGRAM, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS SECTION 1 That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2001-02 in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Solid Waste Fund up to $500 for Fiscal Year 2001-2002, upon receipt of the grant from Wal-Mart, for the purpose of funding the Illegal Dumping program. SECTION 2. That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opmion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3 That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No 14745 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordmance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed. , SECTION 4 This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the Solid Waste Fund by $500 from available funds DISCUSSION On August 14, 2002, Wal-Mart announced the award of a Grand Opening Environmental Grant in the amount of $500 for the City of Fort Worth's Illegal Dumping Program, as part of their grand opening ceremonies of the new Wal-Mart Super Store located at 9101 North Tarrant Parkway The funds will be used for signage to educate the public on the costs of cleaning up the environment when they don't use proper disposal methods As part of the City's push to clean up neighborhoods, signage will be placed at repeat illegal dumping sites once the area has been cleaned up FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION The Finance Director certifies that upon approval of the above recommendations and adoption of the attached appropriation ordinance, funds will be available in the current operating budget, as appropriated,. of the Solid Waste Fund The Environmental Management Department will be responsible for the collection and deposit of the funds.
