HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 15347~• ORDINANCE NO. /~3~ 7 AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND EXTINGUISHING EIGHT ALLEYS IN THE 4400 AND 4500 BLOCKS OF LOCKS, LOVELL, CURZON AND DONNELLY AVENUES, CHAMBERLIN ARLINGTON HEIGHTS ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID LAND, REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THAT eight alleys located in the 4400 and 4500 blocks of Locke, Lovell, Curzon and Donnelly Avenues, each measuring 16 feet wide by 3,964 feet long and totaling 63,427 square feet, running through Blocks 14-17 and 25-27 of the Chamberlin Arlington Heights Addition, Fourth Filing, as recorded in Volume 63, Page 114, Plat Records of Tarrant County, Texas, and through Blocks 125, 155, 156 and 180, Chamberlin Arlington Heights, First Filing, as recorded in Volume 63, Page 21, Plat Records of Tarrant County, Texas, and Block 508, Chamberlin Arlington Heights Second Filing, as recorded in Volume 63, Page 44, Plat Records of Tarrant County, Texas, and as more specifically described in Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference be and the same are vacated and extinguished SECTION 2. That the fee to the land in the above described vacated alleys is hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent owners as provided by law SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed ~; r SECTION 4. City of Fort Worth, Texas Mayor and Council Communication DATE 11/26/02 REFERENCE NUMBER PZ-2435 LOG NAME 06VA-02-054 PAGE 1 of 1 SUBJECT EIGHT ALLEY VACATIONS 4400 AND 4500 BLOCKS OF LOCKE, LOVELL, CURZON AND DONNELLY AVENUES (VA-02-054) RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached ordinance vacating eight (8) alleys measuring16 feet wide by 3,964 feet long each, totaling 63,427 square feet of land, as follows. a) Blocks 14, 17, 24 and 27, Chamberlin Arlington Heights Fourth Filing, as recorded in Volume 63, Page 114, Volume 204-A, Page 137, Plat Records of Tarrant County, Texas, and b) Blocks 125, 155, 156 and 180, Chamberlin Arlington Heights First Filing, as recorded in Volume 63, Page 21, Plat Records of Tarrant County, Texas, and c) Block 508, Chamberlin Arlington Heights 2nd Filing, as recorded in Volume 63, Page 44, Plat Records of Tarrant County, Texas DISCUSSION The Fort Worth Independent School District, adjacent owner to the above-described alleys, has requested vacation of the alleys to expand school building and yard areas Existing improvements - include paving, parking and structures The City Plan Commission recommended approval at it's public hearing on June 26, 2002. The Engineering Department, Real Property Services Division states that a fee of $1 00 will satisfy the public interest. Reviewing City departments and public utility companies have raised no objections to this request.
