HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 15253_~ ~3 : ,? ,. ~r c ORDINANCE NO ~~~~ AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 35-56(g) and 35-56(h) OF CHAPTER 35 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH (1986), AS AMENDED, BY REVISING AND ADDING CERTAIN RATES AND CHARGES, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMU- LATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES, REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PROVISIONS OF THE FORT WORTH CITY CODE 1N CONFLICT HEREWITH, PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE, PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH SECTION 1 That Section 35-56(g) of Chapter 35 of the Code of the Crty of Fort Worth (1986), as amended, is hereby amended to be and read as follows (g) The following schedule of rates per month, or fraction thereof, shall be the charges to all wholesale customers the furnishing water to such customers RATE FOR WHOLESALE WATER SERVICE Volume ($/1,000 gallons)* $ 0 5040 Maximum Day ($/MGD excess) 89,167 00 Maximum Hour ($lMGD excess) 2,111 00 Customer,($(MeterlMonth) 25 00 *plus raw water cost RAW WATER SERVICE All use per month $0 6502 per 1,000 gallons inside Tarrant Regional Water District All use per month $0 7053 per 1,000 gallons outside Tarrant Regional Water Distract SECTION 2 That Section 35-56(h) of Chapter 35 of the Code of the Crty of Fort Worth (1986) as amended, is hereby amended to be and read as follows . ~ x, F (h) The following schedule of rates per month, or fraction thereof, shall be the charges to all wholesale customers for furnishing wastewater services to such customers RATE FOR WHOLESALE WASTEWATER SERVICE Volume ($/1,000 gallons) $ 0 7788 BOD ($/pound) 0.2573 TSS ($/pound) 0 1855 Customer.($/month) 75 00 SECTION 3 T1us ordinance shall be cumulative of all provisions of ordinances and of the Code of the City of Fort Worth, Texas (1986), as amended, except where the provisions of this ordinance are m direct conflrct with the provisions of such ordinance and such Code, in which event conflicting provisions of such ordinances and such Code are hereby repealed. SECTION 4 It is hereby declared to be the intention of the Crty Council that the sections, paragraphs, sentences, clauses and phrases of this ordinance are severable, and, if any phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph or section of this ordinance shall be declared unconstitutional by the valid judgment or decree of any court of competent ~unsdiction, such unconstitutionality shall not affect any -remaining phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs and sections of this ordinance, since the same would have been enacted by the Crty Council without the incorporation m this ordinance of any such unconstitutional phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph or section. SECTION 5. This ordinance shall take effect on October 1, 2002. APPROVED AS TO FORM AND LEGALITY Assistant City Attorney Adopted _ ~ - ~ ~ - Effective ~ D ~- ~ - ®~ ~' .: =--;: City of Fort WoYth, Texas Mayor and Council Communication DATE REFERENCE NUMBER LOG NAME PAGE 9/24/02 **G-13746 60RATES 1 of 2 SUBJECT ORDINANCE REVISING WHOLESALE WATER, WASTEWATER, AND RAW WATER SERVICE RATES RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached ordinance which revises wholesale water, wastewater, and raw water service rates and provides an effective date of billing on or after November 1, 2002, for usage flows from and after October 1, 2002 DISCUSSION Each year a wholesale wastewater rate study is prepared in accordance with the terms of the uniform wholesale customer contracts For FY2003, the wholesale water cost of service study was completed by Water Department staff based on the 2002 wholesale water cost of service study by Camp, Dresser & McKee, Inc The wholesale wastewater cost of service study was completed in 2001 by Black and Veatch Corporation The result of these studies indicated the rates, as proposed below, will recover the cost of providing wholesale water and wastewater service A joint meeting of the Wholesale Water Advisory Committee and the Wholesale Wastewater Advisory Committee was held July 25, 2002, to present the study and the rate requirements Wholesale Water Rates - Present Proposed • Volume ($/1,000 gallons) $ 0 4545 $ 0 5040 • Maximum Day ($/MGD excess) $71,135 00 $89,167 00 • Maximum Hour ($/MGD excess) $22,455 00 $ 2,111 00 • Monthly Customer Charge per meter $ 25 00 $ 25 00 Raw Water Rates -The cost of untreated water supplied by the Tarrant Regional Water District is $0 60206 for use inside the district and $0 65306 outside the district.
