AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND EXTINGUISHING A 12-FOOT BY
200-FOOT LONG ALLEY LOCATED BETWEEN LOTS 1 THROUGH 4
AND 21 THROUGH 24, BLOCK 55, RYAN AND PRUITT ADDITION TO
THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR REVERSION
OF FEE IN SAID LAND, REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS
SECTION 1
THAT the 12-foot wide by 200-foot long alley consisting of 2,400 square feet
lying between Lots 1 through 4 and 21 through 24, Block 55 of the Ryan and Pruitt
Addition, as recorded in Volume 010879, Page 1468, Deed Records of Tarrant County,
Texas, and as more specifically described in Exhibit A attached hereto and
incorporated herein by reference be and the same is vacated and extinguished
SECTION~2
That the fee to the land in the above described vacated alley is hereby released
and shall revert to the adjacent owner as provided by law
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed
SECTION 4
That this ordinance shall take effect upon adoption

LEGAL DESCRIPTION OF ABANDONMENT
A tract of land, being a portion of a called l2 foot of%y ~n Block 55 of the
Ryan 8 Pruitt Addition recorded in Volume 010879, Page 1468, Deed
Records, Tarrant County, Texas
Commencing of the intersection of the southerly Right-of-Way line of Shaw
Street and the easterly Right-of Way line of Grove Street, also being the
Narthwest corner of Block 55 of the Ryan 8 Pruitt Addition
THENCE, East a distance of l25 feet along the southerly Right-of-Way line
of Shaw Street to the POINT OF BEGINNING, also being the Northeast
corner of Lot l of said block 55
THENCE, East a distance of /2 73 feet along the southerly Right-of-Way
line of Show Street, also being the Northwest corner of lot 24 of said block
55
THENCE, South, departing said Right-of Way line, a distance of 200 feet
to the Southwest corner of lot 2l of said block 55

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached ordinance vacating a 12-foot wide by 200-
foot long alley located between, Lots 1 through 4 and 21 through 24, Block 55, Ryan and Pruitt
Addition, as recorded in Volume 010879, Page 1468, Deed Records, Tarrant County, Texas, and
containing 2,400 square feet.
DISCUSSION
John Hernandez and William M Mettel, owners of the above-described properties, have requested
vacation of the subject alley to expand building area The alley is to be retained as a utility easement
for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and Charter Communications unless otherwise relocated at
the applicant's expense
The Engineering Department, Real Property Services Division determined and received a fee of
$300 00 for the said alley The Plan Commission recommended vacation of the alley on April 24, 2002
Reviewing City departments and public utility companies have raised no objections to this request. An
acceptable replat has been received
This property is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 9
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION
The Finance Director certifies that this action will have no material effect on City funds.
