HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 15256t" p, i, s r Ordinance No l ~~`~ AN ORDINANCE INCREASING ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE CONTRACT STREET MAINTENANCE FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $38,438.96 FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (TXDOT) FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING EQUIPMENT FOR TRAFFIC SIGNALS, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS. SECTION 1 That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2001-02 in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Contract Street Maintenance Fund in the amount of $38,438.96 from the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for the purpose of funding equipment for traffic signals. SECTION 2. That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3 That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 14745 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those mstances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 4 This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption. Authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement with TxDOT for the furnishing of traffic signal equipment at seven locations along IH-30 (Tom Landry Highway) from Beach Street to Bridgewood Drive DISCUSSION In August 2002, TxDOT will let a contract to construct new highway ramps for IH-30 from Oakland Boulevard to Bridgewood Drive As part of this project, the bridge over IH-30 will be reconstructed at Beach Street and Oakland Boulevard New .exit ramps and traffic signals will be constructed at Bridge Street, Blue Lake Drive, Brentwood Stair Road and Holt Street. In all, three existing traffic signals will be reconstructed and four new signals will be constructed in this project.
