Ordinance No.
AN ORDINANCE INCREASING ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS
IN THE ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT PROJECT FUND IN THE AMOUNT
OF $400,000 FROM AVAILABLE FUNDS, FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING A
CONTRACT WITH SHAW ENVIRONMENTAL INC. FOR ENVIRONMENTAL AND
ENGINEERING CONSULTING SERVICES, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE
CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTNE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS.
SECTION 1
That in addifion to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2001-02 in the
Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estunated receipts and appropriations in the
Environmental Management Project Fund in the amount of $400,000 from available funds for the purpose of
funding a contract with Shaw Environmental Inc., for environmental and engineering consulting services.
SECTION 2.
That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void
for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair
the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remauring provisions shall
be and remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 14745 and all other ordinances and appropriations
amending the same except m those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in duect conflict with
such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior
ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 4
This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.

SUBJECT APPROVAL OF AMENDMENT TO CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT NO 26741 FOR
ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING SERVICES
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council
1 Authorize the City Manager to execute an amendment to City Secretary Contract No 26741
changing the contractor to Shaw Environmental, Inc., a subsidiary of Shaw Environmental and
Infrastructure, Inc ,and
2 Approve the transfer of $400,000 from the Environmental Management Operating Fund
undesignated to undesignated engineering within the Environmental Management Fund, and
3 Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the
Environmental Management Fund in the amount of $400,000 from available funds
DISCUSSION
On April 24, 2001 (M&C C-18575), the City Council authorized the City Manager to execute an annual
contract with IT Corporation for environmental and engineering consulting services The contract was
effective May 1, 2001, for aone-year period ending April 30, 2002, with two one-year renewal periods
Services were to be performed on an "as needed" basis with a maximum fee of $400,000 00 per year
The City exercised the first renewal option with IT Corporation effective May 1, 2002
Earlier this year, IT Corporation filed for bankruptcy under Chapter 11 The Shaw Group, Inc. has been
granted authority by the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware to purchase IT
Corporation and assume its' contract with the City of Fort Worth
This contract amendment transfers City Secretary Contract No 26741 from IT Corporation to Shaw
Environmental, Inc., a subsidiary of Shaw Environmental and Infrastructure, Inc ,which is a subsidiary
of The Shaw Group, Inc.
