AN ORDINANCE INCREASING ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS
IN THE CAPITAL PROJECTS RESERVE FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $457,572
FROM AVAILABLE FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING A TRANSFER OF
FUNDS TO THE SPECIALLY FUNDED CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND FOR UTILITY
IMPROVEMENTS AT THE FORT WORTH ZOO; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE
CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS.
SECTION 1
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2001-02 m the
Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estunated receipts and appropnations in the Capital
Projects Reserve Fund in the amount of $457,572 from available funds for the purpose of funding a transfer of
funds to the Specially Funded Capital Protects Fund for utility unprovements at the Fort Worth Zoo
SECTION 2.
That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void
for any reason by a court of competent junsdichon, such decision, opinion or tudgment shall in no way unpau~
the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall
be and remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 14745 and all other ordinances and appropriations
amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with
such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior
ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 4
This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council
1 Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the
Capital Projects Reserve Fund by $457,572 from available funds, and
2 Authorize the transfer of $457,572 from the Capital Projects Reserve Fund to the Specially Funded
Capital Projects Fund, and

3 Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the
Specially Funded Capital Projects Fund by $457,572 from available funds for utility improvements at
the Fort Worth Zoo
DISCUSSION
Section 8 04 of the City's contract with the Zoological Association (Association) specifies that the City
will relocate or alter basic utilities to accommodate any construction or modifications at the Fort Worth
Zoo
In June 2001,, the Association completed the Texas Wild! exhibit. On January 29, 2002, (M&C G-
13506), the City Council approved a gift to the City from the Association of the Texas Wild! exhibit
valued at $18,728,745 Final utility improvements cost documentation for the exhibit has now been
submitted by the Association
The Association has one construction project scheduled for Fiscal Year 2001-2002 that will require
basic utility modifications for construction of the new Zoo Administration, Revenue Operations, and
Training buildings The cost for these utility improvements and the final utility costs for the Texas Wild!
exhibit are listed below

FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION
The Finance Director certifies that upon approval of the above recommendations and adoption of the
attached appropriation ordinances, funds will be available in the current capital budget, as appropriated,
of the Specially Funded Capital Projects Fund The cash balance in the Capital Projects Reserve Fund
after this transfer will be $979,403
