The primary goal of that program is to teach children and/or adults how to test the door for heat, when
to crawl out of a room, and the importance of having two defined exit routes in the event of a fire Also
taught is the importance of sufficient smoke alarms and their placement in homes, developing and
adhering to a schedule for battery replacement, basic kitchen safety, and how to call 9-1-1 in the event
of an emergency
