AN ORDINANCE INCREASING ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS
IN THE SPECIAL TRUST FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $6,000 FROM AVAILABLE
FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING APPLICATION FOR AND
ACCEPTANCE OF USA TENNIS 1-2-3 GRANTS, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE
CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTNE
DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS.
SECTION 1
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2001-02 in the
Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Special
Trust Fund in the amount of $6,000 from available funds for the purpose of funding application for and
acceptance of USA Tennis 1-2-3 Grants. ''
SECTION 2.
That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void
for any reason by a court of competent Iurisdicrion, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair
the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall
be and remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 14745 and all other ordinances and appropriations
amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with
such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior
ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed.

This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.

THE PARKS AND COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council
1 Authorize the City Manager to apply for and accept, if awarded, USA Tennis 1-2-3 Grants for the
Parks and Community Services Department in the amount of $6,000, and
2 Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the
Special Trust Fund by $6,000 from available funds, subject to receipt of the grant funds
DISCUSSION
The United States Tennis Association -Texas Section, offers USA Tennis 1-2-3 Grants for a maximum
of $500 per grant. The Parks and Community Services Department is submitting grant applications for
12 community centers, for a total of $6,000 Specifically, the funding will be used to pay for an
additional tennis instructor, equipment, prizes, publicity, and advertising No matching funds are
required
In 2001, tennis programs were available during the Parks and Community Services Department's
:Summer Day Camp Program for youth at the centers listed below Due to extraordinary interest and
participation, additional funding is needed to continue these tennis programs
The grant applications will be submitted for the following community centers
• Fire Station,
• R D Evans,
• Thomas Place,
• Worth Heights,
• Highland Hills,
• Greenbriar;
• Southwest;
• Martin Luther King,
• Handley-Meadowbrook,
• Sycamore,
• Hillside, and
• Northside
