O
AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND EXTINGUISHING THE 5100 BLOCK
OF STANLEY AVENUE AND THE 1700 BLOCK OF COVERT STREET,
LOCATED IN THE SEMINARY HILL ADDITION, AN ADDITION TO THE
CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, AND VACATING AND
EXTINGUISHING A PORTION OF AN ALLEY IN BLOCK 33 OF THE
SEMINARY HILL ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS,
PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID LAND;
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1
THAT the following street and alleys
1 a portion of the 5100 block of Stanley Avenue, lying between Blocks 31,
32, 41 and 42, Seminary Hill Addition to the City of Fort Worth, Texas, as
recorded in Volume 310, Page 45 of the Plat Records of Tarrant County,
Texas, and
2. a portion of the 1700 block of Covert Street, lying between Blocks 31, and
42, Seminary Hill Addition to the City of Fort Worth, Texas, as recorded in
Volume 310, Page 45 of the Plat Records of Tarrant County, Texas, and
3 a portion of a fifteen foot (20') wide alley, located within Block 33,
Seminary Hill Addition to the City of Fort Worth, Texas, and as recorded in
Volume 310, Page 45, Plat Records of Tarrant County, Texas, and
and as more specifically described in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and
incorporated herein, by reference be and the same are vacated and
extinguished
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the land in the above described street and alley rights-of-way is
released and shall revert to the adjacent owner as provided by law

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached ordinance vacating the following
a. Two 60-foot wide streets Portions of Stanley and Covert Streets in the 5100 Block of Stanley
Avenue and the 1700 Block of Covert Street, Seminary Hill Addition, as recorded in Volume i
390, Page 45 of the P R.T C T ,and
b A 15-foot wide alley Portion of an alley running through Block 33, Seminary Hill Addition, as
recorded in Volume 310, Page 45 of the P R.T C T
DISCUSSION
The Fort Worth Independent School District, owner of the above-described properties, has requested
vacation of the referenced streets and alley portions to expand a building area and replat with the
adjoining land Said streets and alley shall be retained as utility easements for existing water and
sewer lines
The City Plan Commission recommended approval at its public hearing on July 24, 2002. The Parks
and Community Development Department have agreed to relinquish the City's interest in Stanley
Avenue The Engineering Department, Real Property Services Division states that a fee of $1 00 will
satisfy the public interest. The reviewing City departments and public utility companies have raised no
objections to this request. An acceptable replat has been provided (FS-02-160)
This request is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 9
