ORDINANCE NO: / ~~
AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND EXTINGUISHING A PORTION OF
THE 2900 BLOCK OF TOWNSEND DRIVE, MEASURING 60 FEET
WIDE BY 600 FEET LONG, LOCATED IN PROSPECTS HEIGHTS
ADDITION, FORT WORTH, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR REVERSION OF
FEE IN SAID LAND, REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
THAT a portion of the 2900 block of Townsend, measuring 60 feet wide by 600
feet long, located adjacent to Block 13, Lots 1 through 12, Prospects Heights Addition,
City of Fort Worth, Texas, and containing 0 827 acres, and as recorded in Volume 63,
Page 59, of the Plat Records of Tarrant County, Texas, and as more specifically
described in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference be and the
same is vacated and extinguished
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the land in the above described vacated street right-of-way is
hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent owners as provided by law
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect upon adoption

Beginning at o capped f/2" iron found at the
intersection of the south line of West Lowden
Street (a 60' R.O.W.) and the east line of said
Townsend Drive at the northwest comer of Block
13, PROSPECT HEl6HTS, an Addition to the City of
Fort Worth, Torront County, Texas, according to
P/at recorded in Volume 63, Page 59, Plat
Records, Tarrant County, Texas,•
THENCE S 00'00 59 "W, along the east line of said
Townsend Drive, 600.49 feet to a capped 1/2°
iron found of the southwest comer of said Block
13 of the intersection of the east line of said
Townsend Drive and the north line of West Bowie

TOWNSEND DRIVE, BETWEEN BOWIE STREET AND LOWDEN STREET,
PROSPECT HEIGHTS ADDITION, CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS (VA-02-075)
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached ordinance vacating the following street, a
60-foot wide by 600-feet long portion of Townsend Drive within 2900 Block of Townsend Drive,
Prospects Heights Addition, according to plat recorded in Volume 63, Page 59, P R.T C T , and
containing 0 827 acres of land
DISCUSSION
The Fort Worth Independent School District, owner of the above-described properties, has requested
vacation of the above referenced street to expand building area Existing improvements include paving,
curb and gutter, storm drain, sanitary sewer, water and electric lines The said street shall be retained
as a utility easement for the above mentioned utilities.
The City Plan Commission recommended approval at its public hearing on November 27, 2002. The
Engineering Department, Real Property Services Division states that a fee of $1 00 will satisfy the
public interest. The reviewing City departments and public utility companies have raised no objections
to this request. An acceptable replat has been provided (FS-02-034)
This request is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 9
