AN ORDINANCE INCREASING ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND
APPROPRIATIONS IN THE CONTRACT STREET MAINTENANCE FUND IN
THE AMOUNT OF $7,670,461 FROM AVAILABLE FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE
OF FUNDING A PORTION OF THE FISCAL YEAR 2002-2003 STREET
MAINTENANCE PROGRAM; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF
PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS
SECTION 1
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2002-
2003 in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and
appropriations in the Contract Street Maintenance Fund in the amount of $7,670,461 from available
funds for the purpose of funding a portion of the FY 2002-2003 Street Maintenance Program
SECTION 2
That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid,
inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or
judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this
ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No 15184 and all other ordinances and
appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance
are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said
conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed
SECTION 4
This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.

RESTORATION, INC FOR EXPANSION JOINT REPAIR OF THE MAIN STREET
BRIDGE OVER THE TRINITY RIVER (2003-1)
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council
1 Authorize the City Manager to transfer $7,670,461 00 from the General Fund to the Contract Street
Maintenance Fund, and
2 Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the
Contract Street Maintenance Fund in the amount of $7,670,461 00 from available funds to fund a
portion of the FY2002-2003 Street Maintenance Program, and
3 Authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with H & H Restoration, Inc. in the amount of
$63,000 00 for 30 working days for Expansion Joint Repair of the Main Street Bridge over the Trinity
River (2003-1)
DISCUSSION
In the FY2002-2003 Contract Major Maintenance Program, various types of maintenance techniques are
used to maintain the City's transportation netvvork of streets and bridges. The transfer of $7,670,461 00 will
provide $6,879,461 00 for anticipated street maintenance programs, and $791,000 00 for anticipated
bridge maintenance programs for 2002-2003 Transfers are done on an annual basis
This first project wil{ provide for deck related repairs on the Main Street bridge over the Trinity River,
specifically the installation of joint materials along the southbound bridge lanes
This project was advertised for bid on September 5 and 12, 2002. On October 3, 2002, the following
bids were received

North Texas Bridge Company, Inc. $77,875 00
Integral Bonding Systems $127,437.20
M/WBE - H & H Restoration, Inc. is in compliance with the City's M/WBE Ordinance by committing to
19% MlWBE participation The City's goal on this project is 17%
This project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 2.
