AN ORDINANCE INCREASING ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS
IN THE GENERAL FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $9,246.15 FROM AVAILABLE
FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING THE 2002 EMPLOYMENT LAW AND
TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE SEMINAR, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE
CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS.
SECTION I
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2001-02 in the
Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the General
Fund in the amount of $9,246.15 for the purpose funding the 2002 Employment Law and Technical
Assistance Seminar
SECTION 2.
That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void
for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair
the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall
be and remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 14745 and all other ordinances and appropriations
amending the game except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with
such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior
ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 4
This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.

EMPLOYMENT LAW AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE SEMINAR
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council
1 Authorize the transfer of $9,246 15 from the escrow account to the Miscellaneous revenue account
within the General Fund, and
2. Adopt the attached supplemental appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and
appropriations in the General. Fund in the amount of $9,246 15 for the 2002 Employment Law and
Technical Assistance Seminar
DISCUSSION
On September 19, 2001, the Fort Worth Human Relations Commission presented the second annual
Employment Law and Technical Assistance Seminar for attorneys, human resource professionals and
employers The seminar included presentations by private attorneys specializing in labor and
employment law and attorneys from the U S Equal Employment Opportunity Commission The State
Bar of Texas approved the course for 6 hours of continuing legal education credit. Seminar fees in the
amount of $9,246 15 were collected and deposited as revenue in the General Fund to be used to fund
the next seminar
On September 5, 2002, the third annual Employment Law and Technical Assistance Seminar will be
held at the Fort Worth Convention Center Funds from last year's event will be used for the purchase of
supplies, printing of conference and registration materials, postage, advertising, application fees for
professional certifications, and for Fort Worth Convention Center rental and catering fees
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION
The Finance Director certifies that upon approval of the above recommendations and adoption of the
attached appropriation ordinance, funds will be available in the current operating budget, as
appropriated, of the General Fund
