ORDINANCE NO. /~-~
AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND EXTINGUISHING A PORTION OF
THE 2700 BLOCK OF POLLARD STREET, MEASURING 50 FEET
WIDE BY 386 FEET LONG, LOCATED IN POLLARD ESTATES, FORT
WORTH, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID
LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HERE-WITH;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:

SECTION 1.
THAT a portion of the 2700 block of Pollard Street, measuring 50 feet wide by
386 feet long, located between Lots 20, 21, 22 and a portion of 23 of the Pollard
Estates, and Lots 2, 3, 4, and 5 of the W G Smith Subdivision, and Lot 59 of the
Pollard Estates, additions to the City of Fort Worth, Texas, and containing 0 44 acres,
and as recorded in Volume 974, Page 123, of the Deed Records of Tarrant County,
Texas, and as more specifically described in Exhibit A, attached hereto and
incorporated herein by reference be and the same is vacated and extinguished
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the land in the above described vacated street right-of--way is
hereby released and shall revert #o the adjacent owners as provided by law
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect upon adoption

DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED POLLARD STREET CLOSING
SITUATED in the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, and being a portion of Pollard Street, a 50
foot wide public street, and being more fully described as follows:
BEGINNING at the southwest corner of this portion of said Pollard Street, in the north line of Beaty
Street, `said point being the southeast corner of tot 20, Pollard Estates, as shown on plat thereof
recorded in Volume 974, Page 123, of the Tarrant County Deed Records;
THENCE North with the west line of said Pollard Street and with the east line of said Lot 20 and
continuing with the east lines of Lots 21, 22, and a part of 23, in said Pollard Estates, in all 386.0 #eet;
THENCE North 89 degrees, '18 minutes, 50 seconds East, crossing said Pollard Street, 50.0 feet to the
southwest corner of that certain b0 foot wide right-of--way dedicated for "Street Purposes" by
instrument recorded in Volume 2643, Page 305, of said Deed Records, and called Van Natta Lane,
said point being in the west line of Lot 1, W G Smith Subdivision of a part of Pollard Estates, as shown
on plat thereof recorded in Volume 1910, Page 23, of said Deed Records;
THENCE South with the east line of said Pollard Street and with the west line of said Lot 1 and
continuing with the west lines of Lots 2, 3, 4, and 5, of said W G Smith Subdivision and continuing with
the west line of Lot 59, said Pollard Estates, in all 386.0 feet to the southwest corner of said Lot 59 in said
north line of Beaty Street;
THENCE South 89 degrees, 18 minutes, 50 seconds West with said north line of Beaty Street, 50.0 feet to
the PLACE OF BEGINNING

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached ordinance vacating a 50-foot wide by 386
feet long portion of Pollard Street, Lot 16-R, Pollard Estates, as recorded in Volume 974, Page 123 of
the Tarrant County Deed Records, Texas, and containing 0 44 acres of land
DISCUSSION
The Fort Worth Independent School District, owner of the above-described property, has requested
vacation of the referenced portion of Pollard Street to expand building area and replat with adjoining
land Existing improvements include temporary classroom buildings and accessory facilities. There are
no known utilities within the said street.
The City Plan Commission recommended approval at its' May 22, 2002 public hearing
The Engineering Department, Real Property Services Division states that a fee of $1 00 will satisfy the
public interest. Reviewing City departments and public utility companies have raised no objections to
this request. An acceptable replat has been provided (FS-02-067)
This request is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 5
