Ordinance No ~51 "
AN ORDINANCE INCREASING ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS
IN THE CONTRACT STREET MAINTENANCE FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF
$105,297 FROM AVAILABLE FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING A
PORTION OF THE 2001-2002 STREET MAINTENANCE PROGRAM, MAKING THIS
ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH,
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS.
SECTION I
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2001-02 in the
Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Contract
Street Maintenance Fund in the amount of $105,297, from available funds for the purpose of funding a
portion of the 2001-2002 Street Maintenance Program.
SECTION 2.
That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, cooperative or void
for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair
the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall
be and remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 14745 and all other ordinances and appropriations
amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordcoance are in direct conflict with
such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior
ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 4
This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.

CONSTRUCTION, !NC FOR STORM DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS FOR EAST I-35,
FOREST PARK AREA AND MISCELLANEOUS SUBDRAINS
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council
1 Approve the transfer of $105,297 from the General Fund to the Contract Street Maintenance Fund, and
2 Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the
Contract Street Maintenance Fund in the amount of $105,297 to fund a portion of the FY2001-2002
Major Maintenance Program from available funds, and'
3 Authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with Tri-Tech Construction, Inc. in the amount of
$814,579 for 90 working days for storm drainage improvement for east I-35, Forest Park area and
miscellaneous subdrains
DISCUSSION
This project includes reconstruction of storm drain systems and installation of subdrains at various
locations
The 1998 Capital Improvement Program included funds for unspecified small drainage projects Unit 1
of this contract consists of the reconstruction of four small storm drain systems as listed below as part
of the 1998 Capital Improvement Program for drainage

Unit 2 consists of subdrain installation at three locations to control groundwater seepage onto City
streets for the safety of the traveling public and to extend pavement life The projects in Unit 2 are
included as part of the annual Major Maintenance Program
• Bryant Irvin Road at Bellaire Drive South
• Overton Terrace east of Hulen Street
• Teal Drive south of Basswood Boulevard
This project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICTS 3, 4, 7, 8, and 9

FOREST PARK AREA AND MISCELLANEOUS SUBDRAINS
BID ADVERTISEMENT -This project was advertised for bid on April 11, 12 and 18, 2002. On May 9,
2002, the following bids were received

Tri-Tech Construction, Inc. $814,579
AUI Contractors, LP $928,689
M/WBE -Tri-Tech Construction, Inc. is in compliance with the City's M/V1/BE Ordinance by committing
to 17% M/WBE participation and documenting good faith effort. Tri-Tech Construction, Inc. identified
several subcontracting and supplier opportunities However, the M/WBEs contacted in the areas
identified did not submit the lowest bids. The City's goal on this project is 23%
This project will be funded from three sources $105,297 from the Contract Street Maintenance Fund,
$678,364 from the Street Improvements Fund for storm drain reconstruction projects, and $30,918 from
the Sewer Capital Projects Fund for Medford Court repair
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION
The Finance Director certifies that upon approval of the above recommendations and adoption of the
attached appropriation ordinance, funds will be available in the current capital budgets, as appropriated,
of the Contract Street Maintenance Fund, the Street Improvements Fund, and the Sewer Capital
Projects Fund
