:Y Ordinance No ~~~~ AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE WATER CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $185,645 AND IN THE SEWER CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $6,524 FROM AVAILABLE FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING A CONTRACT WITH M. E. BURNS CONSTRUCTION, INC., FOR 1998 VARIOUS LOCATIONS CONTRACT 2001B UNIT I. WATER AND SEWER REPLACEMENTS AND A CONTRACT WITH STABILE AND WINK, INC., FOR 1998 CIP VARIOUS LOCATIONS CONTRACT 2001B UNIT II. PAVING ALTERNATE NO 1, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATNE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTNE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS. SECTION 1 That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for the Fiscal Year 2001-02 and in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Water Capital Projects Fund in the of amount of $185,645 and in the Sewer Capital Projects Fund in the amount of $6,524 from available funds for the purpose of funding a contract with M. E. Burns Construction, Inc., for 1948 Various Locations Contract 2001B Unit I. Water and Sewer Replacements and a contract with Stabile and Winn, Inc., for 1998 Various Locations Contract 2001B Unit II. Paving Alternate No. 1 SECTION 2. That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperarive or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remauung provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3 That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 14745and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 4 This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption. Burns Construction, Inc. is in compliance with the City's M/WBE Ordinance by committing to 12% M/V1/BE participation The City's goal on this project is 12°10 The bid documents for Unit II paving improvements included two alternates as follows. • Alternate No 1 included 5-inch HMAC (hot stabilized subgrade, construction of standard and sidewalks where shown on the plans, and nix asphalt concrete) pavement on 6-inch lime concrete curb and gutter, driveway approaches, Alternate No 2 included 6-inch reinforced concrete pavement on 6-inch lime stabilized subgrade, construction of standard concrete curb, driveway approaches, and sidewalks where shown on the plans. Considering the low bids for both paving methods, Alternate No 1 is 29 7% lower than Alternate No 2.
