AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE
GRANTS FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $166,666 SUBJECT TO THE RECEIPT OF THE GRANT
FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING
THE PAVEMENT REHABILITATION OF RUNWAY 16R-34L AT FORT WORTH MEACHAM
INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR
ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS.
SECTION 1
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for the Fiscal Year 2000-01 and in the Budget of
the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in Grants Fund in the amount of $166,666
subject to the receipt of the grant from the Texas Department of Transportation for the purpose of funding the pavement
rehabilitation of Runway 16R-34L at Fort Worth Meacham International Airport.
SECTION 2.
That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by
a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections,
or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 14286 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the
same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and
appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly
repealed.
SECTION 4
This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.

REHABILITATION OF RUNWAY 16R-34L AT FORT WORTH MEACHAM
INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT AND RELATED APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council
1 Authorize the City Manager to apply for and accept, if offered, a grant from the Texas Department of
Transportation in the amount of $150,000 for pavement rehabilitation of Runway 16R-34L, and
Taxiways B, 61, and C at Fort Worth Meacham Intemational Airport and execute a grant agreement
with the Texas Department of Transportation related to this project; and
2. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the
Capital Projects Reserve Fund in the amount of $16,666, and
3. Approve the transfer of $16,666, which represents the City's 10% matching share, from the Capital
Projects Reserve Fund to the Grants Fund, contingent upon receipt of the grant from the Texas
Department of Transportation, and
4 Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing the estimated receipts by $150,000 and
appropriations in the Grants Fund by $166,666 from available funds contingent upon receipt of the grannt
agreement.
DISCUSSION
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) receives federal funding assistance under the State Block
Grant Program These funds are then reallocated to state airports in the form of grants. Grant assistance will
provide 90% of the eligible project costs. The maximum obligation of TxDOT payable under this program will
be $150,000 The City's obligation is 10% of the total eligible project costs, or $16,666
In April, 2001, the Federal Aviation Administration approved the release of 3.25 acres of airport property to thie
TxDOT for the extension of Meacham Boulevard The City is required to use the proceeds, $250,000, of this
land release for airport improvement projects at Fort Worth Meacham International Airport. The City's 10`%
obligation will come from these proceeds.
The property is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 2.

FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION
The Finance Director certifies that upon approval of the above recommendations, receipt of the grant, and
adoption of the attached appropriation ordinance, funds will be available in the current operating budget, as
appropriated, of the Grants Fund After this transfer, the cash balance of the Capital Projects Reserve Fund
will be $1,179,449
