HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 14821oRDnvANCE No.~ ~' AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE SPECIAL ASSESSMENT DISTRICT FUND IN TIIE AMOUNT OF S229,000 FROM AVAILABLE FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING FISCAL YEAR 2001-2002 FUNDING FOR IlVIPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 8; PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABII.TTY CLAUSE; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCII. OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS. SECTION 1. That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for the Fiscal Year 2001-2002 and in the Hudget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Special Assessment District Fund in the amourn of $229,000,00 from available funds for the purpose of fimding the public improvements and services for Fort Worth Public Improvement District No. 8. SECTION 2. Should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall be cumulative to Ordinance No. 14378 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct cenflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so ordained. The City Council also adopted the proposed assessment roll and authorized notice of this benefit hearing The improvements to be provided and the costs thereof are City Administration Capital Improvements Design Guidelines Marketing Campaign Special Events Operations Total Cost To Be Assessed $ 5,000 $ 99,000 $ 10,000 $ 15,000 $ 15,000 85 000 Total $229,000 Total costs for improvements and service in the District are to be paid wholly from assessments with no reimbursement from the City of Fort Worth All costs of improvements shall be assessed against .private property located in the District and the owners of the property The City Manager has filed with the City Secretary a proposed assessment roll and an estimate of the assessments against each parcel City of Fort Worth, Texas A v~ And ounc~l Co~rl~rtun~cAt~ian ~~ ~ C DATE REFERENCE NUMBER LOG NAME PAGE 10/16/01 BH-201 13BENEFIT-8 2 of 2 suB~ECT BENEFIT HEARING FOR FORT WORTH PUBLIC fMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO 8 (CAMP BOWIE) ADOPTION OF APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AND LEVYING OF ASSESSMENTS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2001-2002 Based on the appraised value of the property, and considering the benefits to be received from the proposed improvements, it is the opinion of City staff that each parcel of property wiH be enhanced in value by an amount equal to or more than the proposed assessments upon completion of the improvements in accordance with the Public Improvement District No 8 management contract between the City and Historic Camp Bowie, Inc.
