On January 16, 1996, the City Council adopted Ordinance No 12357 which created Section 13-27 of the City Code, specifying such pay for certain firefighters in the Fort Worth Fire Department. Funds were included in the Fire Department's Fiscal Year 2001-2002 adopted budget to provide assignment pay to firefighters trained in and assigned to technical rescue The Technical Rescue Team responds to emergency incidents such as trench collapse, confined space accidents, high and low angle rescue, structural collapse, and vehicle accidents involving multiple persons trapped in a vehicle or machinery entrapment. Adoption of the ordinance will add the Technical Rescue Team assignments to those presently eligible to receive assignment pay The estimated cost of providing this additional benefit to eligible Fire Department staff is $99,600 in Fiscal Year 2001-2002.
