AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND EXTINGUISHING A 60-FOOT WIDE
PRIVATE DRIVE, TAXIWAY AND EMERGENCY ACCESS EASEMENT
ON LOTS 14 AND 15, BLOCK 5, HICKS AIRFIELD, SECTION 3, AN
ADDITION IN TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR
REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID LAND, REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS
SECTION 1
THAT the 60-foot wide by 80-foot long private drive, taxiway and emergency
access easement, located on Lots 14 and 15, Block 5, Hicks Airfield, Section 3, an
Addition in Tarrant County, and as recorded in Cabinet A, Slide 5273, Plat Records,
Tarrant County, Texas, and as more specifically described in Exhibit A attached hereto
and incorporated herein by reference be and the same is vacated and extinguished
SECTION 2
That the fee to the land in the above described vacated private drive, taxiway
and emergency access easement is hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent
owner as provided by law
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby

That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after
the date of its passage, and it is so ordained

CO. SURVEY, ABSTRACT NO.- 1110, M.E.P. and P.R.R. - CO. SURVEY, ABSTRACT NO. -1109,
and the G.A. CRINER SURVEY, ABSTRACT NO. 1110, Tarrant County, Texas, said
easement being a-portion of_=that-sametract-as---described in deed -to Expedition--
Investments, L.L.C., a Texas limited liability company as recorded in "Volume -
13836, Page 156, Deed Records, Tarrant County, Texas and being a portion of
that same tract as described in deed to Carol Craig Morris, Trustee of the
Morris Irrevocable Trusts as recorded in Volume 14832, Page 293 of said Deed
Records and also being a portion of Lots 14 and 15, Bloclc 5, HICKS AIRFIELD,
Section. 3, an Addition in Tarrant County, Texas as recorded in Cabinet A, Slide
5273 of the Plat Records, Tarrant County, Texas and the centerline of said 60
foot wide easement being more particularly described by metes and bounds as

BEGINNING at a 1/2 inch capped steel rod .stamped "MOAK SURV INC" set for the
most northerly corner of said Lot 14, also being the most easterly corner of
said Lot 15;
THENCE South 57 degrees 17 minutes 32 seconds West with the common boundary
line between said Lots 14 and 15, 80.00 feet to a 1/2 inch capped steel rod
stamped "MOAK SURV INC" set for the most westerly corner of said L_ot 14, also
being the most southerly corner of said Lot 15 and containing 0.1102 of an acre -
of land, more or less, -

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached ordinance vacating a 60-foot wide by 80-
fgot long private drive, taxiway and emergency access easement located between Lots 14 and 15,
Block 5, Hicks Airfield Addition, Section 3, Tarrant County, Texas, as recorded in Cabinet A, Slide 5273

of the Plat Records, Tarrant County, Texas. (Exhibit A)
DISCUSSION
Expedition Investments, LLC (Don Davis), Hurst, Texas, owner of the above described adjacent
property, has requested vacation of the combined private drive, taxiway and emergency access
easement to enable expansion of adjacent buildings. The easement was initially established by plat
dedication, therefore no acquisition fee is required
Reviewing City departments and public utility companies have raised no objections to this request. An
acceptable replat has been received
This request is located in the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Fort Worth
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION
The Finance Director certifies that this action will have no material effect on City funds.
