Home My WebLink AboutOrdinance 14566s, A Ordinance No. `(~~ b AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE WATER CAPITAL PROJECT FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $582,968 AND IN THE SEWER CAPITAL PROJECT FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $195,022.99 FROM AVAILABLE FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING A CONTRACT WITH J L. BERTRAM CONSTRUCTION AND ENGINEERING, INC., FOR HMAC SURFACE OVERLAY 2000-12 AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS. SECTION 1 That in addition to those amounts allocated to the vanous City departments for the Fiscal Year 2000-01 and in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estunated receipts in the Water Capital Project Fund in the amount of $582,968 and in the Sewer Capital Protect Fund in the amount of $195 022.99 from available funds for the purpose of funding a contract with J L. Bertram Construction and Engineenng, Inc., for HMAC Surface Overlay 2000-12 at various Locations. SECTION 2. That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3 That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 14286 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, mwhich instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropnations are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 4 This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force after the date of its passage, and it is so ordained. AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council Authorize the City Manager to transfer $777,990 99 from the Water and Sewer Operating Fund to the Water Capital Project Fund in the amount of $582,968 00, and the Sewer Capital Project Fund in the amount of $195,022 99, and 2. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the Water Capital Project Fund in the amount of $582,968 00, and the Sewer Capital Project Fund in the amount of $195,022 99 from available funds, and 3 Authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with J L. Bertram Construction & Engineering, Inc. in the amount of $1,394,581 98 for 240 working days for HMAC Surface Overlay 2000-12. DISCUSSION In the 1999-2000 Contract Major Maintenance Program, various types of street maintenance techniques are grouped into specific contract packages HMAC (hot mix asphalt concrete) Surface Overlay 2000-12 provides for surface and base rehabilitation, replacement of failed curb and gutter, and driveway approaches for asphalt streets at various locations The streets included in this contract are currently under construction for the replacement of water and/or sewer lines or have recently had water and/or sewer lines replaced The Transportation and Public Works Department has determined that curb-to-curb restoration of the pavement surface is the best option for the repair of these streets The cost for repair of these streets will be shared equally (50/50) between the Water Department and the Transportation and Public Works Department.
