AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND EXTINGUISHING A 60-FOOT
WIDE BY A VARIABLE LENGTH (82.14-FEET TO 90.8-FEET) OF
200 BLOCK OF CANTEY STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY LYING
BETWEEN ST LOUIS AVENUE AND THE UNION PACIFIC
RAILROAD AND AS RECORDED IN THE SOUTH HEMPHILL
HEIGHTS ADDITION, FORT WORTH, TARRANT COUNTY,
TEXAS; PROVIDING FOR REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID LAND;
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH, TEXAS
SECTION 1
That a a 60-foot wide by a variable length (82.14-feet to 90 8-feet) of 200 block
of Cantey Street right-of--way lying between St. Louis Avenue and the Umon Pacific
Railroad and as recorded m the South Hemphill Heights Addition, and as recorded m
Volume 106, Page 132, Plat Records, Tarrant County, Texas and as more specifically
described m Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference be and the
same is vacated and extinguished.
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the land in the above described vacated street right-of--way and
related easement is hereby released and shall revert to the add acent owner as provided by
law
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
SECTION 4
That this ordinance shall take effect and be m full force and effect from and after
the date of its passage, and rt is so ordained.

PROPERTY DESCRIPTION
BEING a 0.119 acre tract of land situated in the Lydia J. Warwick Survey, Abstract No.
1663, City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas and being a part of Cantey Street (60
foot right-of-way) according to the plat of South Hemphill Heights, an addition to the
City of Fort Worth recorded in Volume 106, Page 132, Plat Records, Tarrant County,
Texas. Said 0.119 acre tract being more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at a 5/8" iron pin found at the intersection of the south right-of-way line
of the aforementioned Cantey Street with the east right-of-way line of St. Louis
Avenue (a 60 foot right-of-way), said iron pin also being the northwest corner of
Block 18, South Hemphill Heights Addition,
THENCE NORTH, a distance of 60.00 feet to a 5/8" iron pin set at the intersection of
the east line of St. Louis Avenue with the north line of Cantey Street at the southwest
corner of Lot 12, Block 1, South Hemphill Heights Addition;
THENCE EAST along the south line of Lot 12 and the north line of Cantey Street, a
distance of 90.80 feet to a 'T' found cut in a metal plate on a concrete slab in the
west line of a tract of land conveyed to Union Pacific Railroad Company by deed
recorded in Volume 12992, Page 303, Deed Records, Tarrant County, Texas at the
beginning of anon-tangent curve to the right having a central angle of 03' 12'04", a
radius of 1085.17 feet, and a chord bearing and distance of South 08'12'39" West,
60.62 feet;
THENCE in a southerly direction with said curve and with said west line and with the
west line of a tract of land conveyed to Union Pacific Railroad Company by deed
recorded in Volume 12992, Page 304, Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas, in all
an arc length of 60.63 feet to a 5/8" iron pin found at the northeast corner of
Block 18, South Hemphill Heights Addition,
THENCE WEST departing said Union Pacific Railroad Company tract and along the north
line of said Block 18 and along the south line of Cantey Street, a distance of 82.14
feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING and containing 5,205 square feet or 0.119 acres of
land.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached ordinance vacating a 60-foot wide by an
82 14-foot long to a 90 8-foot long variable length portion of the 200 block of Cantey Street right-of-way
lying between St Louis Avenue and the Union Pacific Railroad, as recorded in the South Hemphill
Heights Addition to the City of Fort Worth, Volume 106, Page 132, Plat Records, Tarrant County,
Texas
DISCUSSION
Mr Theodore F Lange, on behalf of the Lange Partnership, owners of the above-described property,
has requested vacation of the afore-described street segment to incorporate into a replat of adjoining
land There are no street improvements, and provisions have been made to retain appropriate utility
easements The Engineering Department, Real Property Management Division has received the
stipulated acquisition fee payment in the amount of $2,580 00
The City Plan Commission recommended street vacation of this request on November 26, 1997
Reviewing City departments and public utility companies have raised no objections to this request. An
acceptable replat has been received
This request is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 9
