HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 14470Ordinance No. ~ 7 ~! ~~ AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIl'TS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE STREET IMPROVEMENTS FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $220,000 SUBJECT TO THE RECEIPT OF THE FUNDS FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING THE TRAFFIC SIGNAL PROJECT ON SH 199, PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMiJLATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS. SECTION 1 That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for the Fiscal Year 1999-00 and in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Street Improvements Fund in the amount of $220,000 subject to the receipt of the funds from the Texas Department of Transportation for the purpose of funding the Traffic Signal Project on SH 199 SECTION 2. That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3 That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 13886 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 4 This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force after the date of its passage, and it is so ordained. DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR A TRAFFIC SIGNAL PROJECT ALONG SH199 (JACKSBORO HIGHWAY) RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council 1 Authorize the City Manager to enter into an agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for a traffic signal project which includes installation of four new traffic signals along SH199 (Jacksboro Highway), and 2.a Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the Street Improvements Fund up to $220,000 from increased revenues upon receipt of funds from TxDOT DISCUSSION This agreement will allow TxDOT to participate by providing one-half of the construction funding, in advance, for new traffic signal installations along SH199 (Jacksboro Highway) The intersections are Highway 199/Nine Mile Bridge Road, Highway 199/Surfside/Love Circle, Highway 199/Roadrunner, and Highway 199/Tenderfoot Trail The estimated funding provided by the state will be $213,500 The total estimated construction cost is $427,000 City funding will come from Capital Improvement Program signal additional funding needs that were identified in aPre-Council presentation A traffic signal warrant study concluded that these intersections meet the warrant requirements for traffic signals based on the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices The Transportation and Public Works Department proposes to install fully actuated traffic signals All intersections are located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 7 City of Fort Worth, Texas ~11~Ayar And aunc~il a1~11r1un1cAfifan C C DATE 1/2/01 REFERENCE NUMBER **C-18408 LOG NAME 20TRAFSIG PAGE 2 of 2 SUBJECT APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AND ADVANCE FUNDING AGREEMENT WITH THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR A TRAFFIC SIGNAL PROJECT ALONG SH199 JACKSBORO HIGHWAY FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION The Transportation and Public Works Department will be responsible for the collection and deposit of funds from TxDOT under this agreement.
