FOR RECONSTRUCTION OF MEADOWBROOK DRIVE (HANDLEY DRIVE TO SANDY LANE). BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS. SECTION 1 That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City depa~~hnents for the Fiscal Year 1999-00 and in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Water Capital Fund in the amount of $413,006.00 and the Sewer Capital Project Fund in the amount of $334,560.00 from available funds for the purpose of funding a contract to McClendon Construction Company, Inc. for reconstruction of Meadowbrook Drive (Handley Drive to Sandy Lane). SECTION 2. That should any portion, section or part of a secfion of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3 That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 13886 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 4 This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect and after the date of its passage, and it is so ordained. DISCUSSION The 1998 Capital Improvement Program included funds for the reconstruction of Meadowbrook Drive from Handley Drive to Sandy Lane The proposed improvements include the construction of standard concrete pavement, driveway approaches, sidewalk and storm drain improvements. Water and sanitary sewer improvements are also to be made The project was advertised for bid November 18 and 24, 1999 On December 16, 1999, the following bids were received• BIDDER AMOUNT McClendon Construction Company. McClendon Construction Company, Inc. identified several subcontracting and supplier opportunities on the above listed project. The M/VVBEs contacted in the areas identified did not respond or did not submit the lowest bids.
