AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN
THE ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT PROJECT FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,000
FROM AVAILABLE FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING THE "CARE FOR
COWTOWN AIR 2001" PROGRAM, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF
PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS.
SECTION 1
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for the Fiscal Year 1999-00 and in the Budget of
the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropnations in the Environmental Management
Project Fund in the amount of $5,000 from available funds for the purpose of funding the "Care For Cowtown Air 2001"
Program.
SECTION 2.
Should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a
court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or
parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 13886 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the
same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and
appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly
repealed.
SECTION 4
This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force after the date of its passage, and it is so ordained.

SUBJECT APPROVAL OF ORDINANCE FOR ACCEPTANCE OF WAL-MART GRAND OPENING
ENVIRONMENTAL GRANT FOR THE "CARE FOR COWTOWN AIR" 2001 PROGRAM
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council
1 Authorize the City Manager to accept a Wal-Mart Grand Opening Environmental Grant in the
amount of $5,000 for the "Care for Cowtown Air" 2001 education program, and
2. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the
Environment Management Project Fund by $5,000 from available funds
DISCUSSION
Wal-Mart announced the award of a Grand Opening Environmental Grant in the amount of $5,000 for
the City of Fort Worth's "Care for Cowtown Air" 2001 program on Wednesday, August 23, 2000, as part
of their grand opening ceremonies of the new Neighborhood Market at 7401 Park Vista
The new Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 4
The funding received from Wal-Mart will be used to print Air Quality Index cards to be distributed at the
"Care for Cowtown Air Clean Air Fair 2001 "The Clean Air Fair is scheduled to kick-off the 2001 Ozone
Season on Friday, April 27, 2001, from 11 00 a m - 1 30 p m on Main Street. The event is part of the
City's air quality educational and awareness campaign aimed towards downtown businesses and the
hospital district as well as City employees
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION
The Finance Director certifies that upon adoption of the attached appropriation ordinance, funds will be
available in the current capital budget, as appropriated, of the Environmental Management Project
Fund The Environmental Management Department will be responsible for the collection and deposit of
the funds.
