AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING, CLOSING AND
EXTINGUISHING A 60 FOOT WIDE BY 190 FOOT LONG
ACCESS EASEMENT, CONTAINING APPROXIMATELY 0.262
ACRES, AND SITUATED IN LOTS 4-3, 4-4, 3-1 AND 3-2, BLOCK
1, IN THE HICKS AIRFIELD ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH, TEXAS; PROVIDING FOR REVERSION OF FEE IN
SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH, TEXAS
SECTION 1.
That a 60 foot wide by 190 foot long access easement, containing approximately
0.262 acres, and situated in Lots 4-3, 4-4, 3-1 and 3-2, Block 1, m the Hicks Airfield
Addition, and as recorded in Volume 388-20$, Page 50, Plat Records of Tarrant County,
Texas, and as more specifically described in Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated
herein by "reference be and the same is vacated, abandoned and permanently closed and
extinguished.
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the land in the above described vacated access easement is hereby
released and shall revert to the adjacent owner as provided by law
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
SECTION 4

That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after
the date of its passage, and rt is so ordained.

FOR AN ACCESS EASEMENT HAVING A WIDTH OF 60.0 FEET ACROSS A PORTION OF
LOTS 3-1, 3-2, 4-3, AND 4-4, BLOCK 1, OF HICKS AIRFIELD, IN TARRANT
COUNTY, TEXAS, ACCORDING TO THE PLAT'RECORDED IN VOLUME 388-205, PAGE
50, PLAT RECORDS, TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS, AND BEING MORE PARTICULARLY
DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS AS FOLLOWS:
BEGINNING at a capped iron found at the most southerly corner of
Lot 4-3., above referenced;
THENCE N. 320-42'-29" W. 30.00 feet along the westerly line of
said Lot 4-3, to a~point in same for corner;
THENCE N. 570-17'-31"~~'• 190.00 feet to a point in the easterly
line of Lot 4-4', above referenced , being the westerly
line of Hicks Airfield, Section 2, as shown on a plat
recorded in cabinet A, Siide 3069;
THENCE S. 320-42'-29" E. at 30 feet passing a 5/8" capped iron
found at the most northerly corner of Lot 3-2, above

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached ordinance vacating a 60-foot wide by 190-
foot long access easement containing 0.262 acres, more or less, and situated in Lots 4-3, 4-4, 3-1 and
3-2, Block 1, Hicks Airfield Addition, as recorded in Volume 388-205, Page 50, Plat Records, Tarrant
County, Texas
DISCUSSION
John Barber and Robert Avery, owners of the above-described property, have requested vacation of
the access easement to enable hangar development on their respective lots There are no utilities or
drainage requirements associated with this easement, and all embraced lots have unrestricted access
to the adjacent servicing private drive/taxiway/emergency access easement. Said easement was
previously dedicated by plat
The Engineering Department, Real Property Management Division has determined an acquisition fee of
$1 00 satisfies the public interest for this easement located in the City's extraterritorial jurisdiction
The City Plan Commission recommended approval of this request on August 23, 2000 at its public
hearing
Reviewing City departments and public utility companies have raised no objections to this request An
acceptable replat has been received
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION
The Finance Director certifies that this action will have no material effect on City funds
