HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 14245ORDINANCE NO ~ ~~ 2 yS AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE COMMERCIAL PAPER-SEWER FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $297,723 00 FROM AVAILABLE FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING A CONTRACT WITH TRI-TECH CONSTRUCTION, INC., FOR MAINS 36S, 166, 195AI AND 195AII DRAINAGE AREA SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM REHABILITATION AND IMPROVEMENTS (GROUP 3, CONTRACT 5) PART 4, UNIT 4, PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS SECTION 1. That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for the Fiscal Year 1999/00 and in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Commercial Paper -Sewer Fund in the amount of $297,723 00 from available funds for the purpose of funding rehabilitation and improvements for Mains 365, 166, 195AI and 195AII drainage area sanitary sewer system (Group 3, Contract 5) Part 4, Unit 4. SECTION 2. Should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3 That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No 13886 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly .repealed. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so ordained. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the Commercial Paper -Sewer Fund in the amount of $297,723 00; and 3 Authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with Tri-Tech Construction, Inc. in the amount of $264,723 00 for Mains 36S, 166, 195AI and 195A11 Drainage Area Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation and Improvements (Group 3, Contract 5) Part 4, Unit 4 DISCUSSION On February 10, 1998 (M&C C-16583), the City Council authorized the City Manager to execute an engineering agreement with Teague Nall and Perkins Inc. to prepare plans and specifications for the reduction of inflow/infiltration in the sanitary sewer Mains 36S, 166, 195AI and 195A11 drainage areas. The project is part of the City's Integrated Wet Weather Wastewater Management Program to comply with an administrative order from the U S Environmental Protection Agency to eliminate sewer overflows from the City's wastewater collection system L-4773A/L-4773 Beginning from the EI Rancho Road/Gardenia Street intersection, northerly 370 feet along EI Rancho Road, westerly 450 feet along Hunting Drive to the Hunting Drive/Eastline Drive intersection, then northerly 400 feet along Eastline Drive to the Eastline Drive/Timberline Drive intersection, and L-7521 Beginning from the Hunting Drive/EI Rancho Road intersection, then easterly 1,200 feet along Hunting Drive The project consists of the replacement of approximately 2,300 linear feet of 8-inch sewer pipe. Tri-Tech Construction, Inc. identified several subcontracting and supplier opportunities.
