HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 14347ORDINANCE NO ~~~` ~' R AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 35-56(g) OF CHAPTER 35 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH (1986), AS AMENDED, BY REVISING CERTAIN RATES AND CHARGES FOR WHOLESALE WATER CUSTOMERS, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES, REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PROVISIONS OF THE FORT WORTH CITY CODE IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE, PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH. SECTION 1. That Section 35-56(g) of Chapter 35 of the Code of the City of Fort Worth (1986), as amended, is hereby amended to be and read as follows "(g) The following schedule of rates per month, or fraction thereof, shall be the charges to all wholesale customers for the furnishing water to such customers. RATE FOR WHOLESALE WATER SERVICE Volume ($/1,000 gallons)* $0 4408 Maximum Day ($/MGD excess) $79,373 Maximum Hour ($/MGD excess) $12,993 Customer ($/Meter/Month) $ 25 00 *plus raw water cost" SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be cumulative of all provisions of ordinances and of the Code of the City of Fort Worth, Texas (1986), as amended, except where the provisions of this ordinance are m direct conflict with the provisions of such ordinance and such Code, m which event conflicting provisions of such ordinances and such Code are hereby repealed. SECTION 3. It is hereby declared to be the intention of the City Council that the sections, paragraphs, sentences, clauses and phrases of this ordinance are severable, and, if any phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph or section of this ordinance shall be declared unconstitutional by the valid judgment or decree of any court of competent ~unsdichon, such unconstitutionality shall not affect any remaining phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs and sections of this ordinance, since the same would have been enacted by the City Council without the incorporation m this ordinance of any such unconstitutional phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph or section. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be m full force and effect for usage from and after October 1, 2000, and it is so ordained. For Fiscal Year 2001, the wholesale water cost of service study was completed by the Water Department based on the 2000 wholesale water cost of service study conducted by an outside consulting firm The results of this study indicate that the proposed rates will recover the cost of providing wholesale water service A joint meeting of the Wholesale Water Advisory Committee and the Wholesale Wastewater Advisory Committee was held August 17, 2000, to present the study and the rate requirements i WHOLESALE WATER RATES Present Proposed Volume ($/1,000 gallons)* $0.3750 $0 4408 Maximum day ($/MGD excess) $79,545 $79,373 Maximum hour ($/MGD excess) -0- $12,993 Monthly customer charge per meter $ 25 00 $ 25 00 * plus raw water cost RAW WATER RATES The cost of raw water supplied by the Tarrant Regional Water District ($0 58968 inside the district, and $ 064668 outside the district) is adjusted to account for street rental and system loss ($ 06369 inside the district, and $ 06984 outside the district) and is directly passed through to wholesale water customers.
