SUBJECT ORDINANCE REVISING WHOLESALE WATER AND RAW WATER SERVICE RATES
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached ordinance revising wholesale water and raw
water service rates, and providing an effective date of billing on or after November 1, 2000, for usage of
flows from and after October 1, 2000
DISCUSSION
Each year a wholesale water rate study is prepared in accordance with the terms of the uniform
wholesale customer contracts.
For Fiscal Year 2001, the wholesale water cost of service study was completed by the Water
Department based on the 2000 wholesale water cost of service study conducted by an outside
consulting firm The results of this study indicate that the proposed rates will recover the cost of
providing wholesale water service
A joint meeting of the Wholesale Water Advisory Committee and the Wholesale Wastewater Advisory
Committee was held August 17, 2000, to present the study and the rate requirements
