HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 14248ORDINANCE NO 1 y'~ 7 AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE COMMERCIAL PAPER-SEWER FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $543,610 00 FROM AVAILABLE FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING A CONTRACT WITH WILLIAM J SCHULTZ, INC., D/B/A CIRCLE "C" CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR REHABILITATION AND IMPROVEMENTS FOR MAINS 36S, 166,195AI AND 195AII DRAINAGE AREA SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM (GROUP 3, CONTRACT 5) PART 4, UNIT 1, PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS SECTION 1. That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for the Fiscal Year 1999/00 and in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Commercial Paper -Sewer Fund in the amount of $543,610 00 from available funds for the purpose of funding rehabilitation and improvements for Mains 36S, 166, 195AI and 195AII drainage area sanitary sewer system (Group 3, Contract 5) Part 4, Unit 1 SECTION 2. Should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3 That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No 13886 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so ordained. UNIT 1 RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council 1 Authorize the City Manager to transfer $543,610 00 from the Water and Sewer Operating Fund to the Commercial Paper -Sewer Fund, and 2. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing the estimated receipts and appropriations in Commercial Paper -Sewer Fund in the amount of $543,610 00 from available funds,. and 3 Authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with William J Schultz, Inc. d/b/a Circle "C" Construction Company in the amount of $484,610 00 for Mains 36S, 166, 195AI and 195A11 Drainage Area Sanitary Sewer System Rehabilitation and Improvements (Group 3, Contract 5) Part 4, Unit 1, DISCUSSION On February 10, 1998 (M&C C-16583), the City Council authorized the City Manager to execute an engineering agreement with Teague Nall and Perkins, Inc. to prepare plans and specifications for the reduction of inflow/infiltration in the Sanitary Sewer Mains 36S, 166, 195AI and 195A11 drainage areas. The project consists primarily of the replacement of the following sanitary sewer laterals: L-3526 Beginning from the Spiller Street/Sandgate Avenue intersection, southerly 746 feet along Sandgate Avenue, then westerly 1,500 feet along south Berry Street to the south Berry Street/Berry Street intersection, and L-3457 Beginning from the Spiller Street/Sandgate Avenue intersection northerly 650 feet along Sandgate Avenue to the Sandgate Avenue/Shropshire Street intersection, easterly 460 feet along Shropshire Street to the Shropshire Street/Canberra Court intersection, then northerly 370 feet along Canberra Court.
