ORDINANCE NO. 1350 AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING, CLOSING AND EXTINGUISHING PORTIONS OF AVENUE I AND HENDRICKS STREET, POLYTECHNIC HEIGHTS ADDITION AND A. H FISH ADDITION, TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR REVERSION OF .FEE IN SAID LAND, REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS SECTION 1 THAT the 2500 block of Avenue I, situated between Beach Street and Hendricks Street, abutting Tract 1 C5B, J Ringer Survey, Abstract No 1286, and Lots 13 thru 23, Block 62, Polytechnic Heights Addition, as recorded in Volume 63, Page 109, Tarrant County Plat Records, being 60 feet wide by 275 feet long, and containing approximately 16,500 square feet, more or less, and also a portion of Hendricks Street abutting Tract 5A, Davis Survey, Abstract No 418, as recorded in Volume 10590, Page 1.131, Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas, and Lot 13, Block 62, Polytechnic Heights Addition, being 25 feet wide by 125 feet long and containing approximately 3,222 square feet, more or less, and as more specifically described in Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference be and the same are vacated, abandoned and permanently closed and extinguished SECTION 2 That the fee to the land in the above described street right-of-way is hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent owner as provided by law, SAVE AND EXCEPT that existing utility, drainage and public access easements within the vacated portion of the street right-of-way shall be retained for any existing utilities or public access purposes, until satisfactory relocation plans are made and approved by the City of Fort Worth SECTION 3 That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed SECTION 4 That. this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so ordained APPROVED AS TO FORM AND LEGALITY Assistant City Attorney Date ~/~ ~~°2`Si5'D ADOPTED / ~6 -~ d EFFECTIVE / ^~~ -~~ _._ _.- 1 2300 4 4 z u 2 °~ u ~~ 3 K 3 14 3R TR3 4 13 .4 4662 LF 7 15 ~ i CF L TRSA ~6 TRSA C ,~ 9 b ~ AVE. Also a portion of Hendricks Street abutting Tract 5A, Davis Survey, Abstract No 418, as recorded in Volume 10590, Page 1131, Deed Records, Tarrant County, Texas, Lot •13, Block 62, Polytechnic Heights Addition, being 25-feet wide by 125-feet long containing approximately 3,222 square feet, more or less, as recorded in the Plat Records of Tarrant County, Texas. DISCUSSION Mr Jim Austin, on behalf of the Tarrant County Hospital District, owner of the above-described property, has requested vacation of portions of Avenue "I" and Hendricks Street to provide for the development of temporary and future medical buildings for expansion of John Peter Smith Hospital The streets are to be retained as public utility and water and sewer easements until satisfactory arrangements are made for relocation of said utilities. The Engineering Department, Real Property Management Division has established a $1 00 fee amount as a taxing entity public service request. Reviewing City departments and public utility companies have raised no objections to this request. An acceptable replat has been provided This property is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 8 FINANCIAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION The Finance Director certifies that this action will have no material effect on City funds.
