DISCUSSION As part of a Traffic Management Plan for the Bellaire Park North and Meadows West neighborhoods, it is proposed that the speed limit be reduced from 30 mph to 25 mph on several residential streets. This will include reducing the speed limit on Bellaire Drive South from 35 mph to 30 mph, and Oakmont Boulevard from 40 mph to 35 mph Other components of the plan include all-way stops and a raised crosswalk. The attached map shows the general area of these speed reductions. Due to existing traffic flows and typographical errors, residential streets and frontage roads are being recommended for boundary changes and speed reductions. In addition, several changes are being recommended for school zone limits, in coordination with the associated schools The attached proposed ordinance incorporates all the above and amends the City of Fort Worth Speed Zone Ordinance (Chapter 22 of the City Code) by making certain additions and deletions recommended by the Department of Transportation and Public Works. FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION The Finance Director certifies that this action will have no material effect on City funds.
