AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING, CLOSING AND
EXTINGUISHING A PORTION OF SHERRIL STREET, BOUNDED BY
HOPKINS STREET, HULEN STREET, LISBON STREET AND WEST
VICKERY BOULEVARD, ADJACENT TO LOT 1-A-R, BLOCK 7,
FACTORY PLACE ADDITION, TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID LAND,
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS
SECTION 1
THAT Sherril Street, north of West Vickery Boulevard, being approximately 185
feet long and varies from 22 8 feet to 50 feet wide containing approximately 8,232
square feet of land in Block 7, Factory Place Addition, as recorded in Volume 388-151,
Page 34, Plat Records, Tarrant County, Texas, and as more specifically described in
Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference be and the same is
vacated, abandoned and permanently closed and extinguished
SECTION 2
That the fee to the land in the above described partial street right-of-way is
hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent owner as provided by law, SAVE AND
EXCEPT that an existing utility easement shall be retained for any existing and
prospective water and public utilities and access to them
SECTION 3
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed
SECTION 4
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after
the date of its passage, and it is so ordained

8,232 square feet of land being a vanable width portion of Sherril Street and being more particularly
described by metes and bounds as follows
BEGINNING at a 5/8 inch iron rod found with plastic cap stamped "Sempco" found at the most
southerly corner of Lot 1-A R, Block 7, Factory Place, an addition to the City of Fort Worth, Texas,
as recorded m Volume 388/151, Page 34, Plat Records of Tarrant County, Texas, and being the
northwesterly R-O-W line of Sherril Street,
THENCE N 51° 13' 00" E, along the southeasterly hne of said Lot 1-A-R, 185 08 feet;
THENCE S 38° 35' 40" E, 22.76 feet to the beguuung of anon-tangent curve to the left whose radius
is 1066 09 feet and whose long chord bears S 36° 19' 01" W, 49 47 feet;
THENCE along said curve to the left m a southwesterly direction through a central angle of 02° 39'

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached ordinance vacating Sherril Street, north of
West Vickery Boulevard, being approximately 185 feet long and varies from 22 8 feet to 50 feet wide
containing approximately 8,232 square feet of land in Block 7, Factory Place Addition, as recorded in
Volume 388/151, page 34 of the Plat Records, Tarrant County, Texas.
DISCUSSION
Marcus Cable Company, owner of all adjacent property; has requested the partial vacation of Sherril
Street to increase the parking and yard area A utility easement will be retained over the vacated street
segment to accommodate existing water and public utility facilities. A replat has been filed with the City
for approval Reviewing City departments and public utility companies have raised no objection to this
request. On November 24,1999, the Plan Commission recommended approval of this request.
This request is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 7
FISCAL INFORMATIONICERTIFICATION
The Real Property Division of the Engineering Department will be responsible for the collection and
deposit of $7,450 due the City under this agreement.
