AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE
GRANTS FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $555,556.00 SUBJECT TO THE RECEIPT OF A GRANT
FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING
DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF TAXIWAY "K" INTERSECTION AT FORT WORTH
MEACHAM INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE,
MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL
PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS.
SECTION 1
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for the Fiscal Year 1999-00 and in the Budget of
the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Grants Fund in the amount of
$555,556.00 subject to the receipt of a grant from the Texas Department of Transportation for the purpose of funding design
and construction of Taxiway "K" Intersection at Fort Worth Meacham International Airport.
SECTION 2.
That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by
a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections,
or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 13886 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the
same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and
appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly
repealed.
SECTION 4
This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force after the date of its passage, and it is so ordained.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council
Authorize the City Manager to accept an Airport Project Participation Agreement grant from the
Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for $500,000 00 for the design and construction of
Taxiway Kilo and Delta intersection at Fort Worth Meacham International Airport; and
2. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the
Grants Fund by $555,556 00, subject to receipt of the grant; and
3 Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the
Aviation Improvement Capital Project Fund by $55,556 00 from available funds, and
4 Authorize the transfer of funds in the amount of $55,556 00 from the Aviation Improvements Project
Fund to the Grants Fund for the 10% match
DISCUSSION
Over the years, the intersection of taxiway Kilo and Delta has been damaged by the heavy use of large
aircraft. It has deteriorated to the point that staff believes, and TxDOT engineers confirm, that it must
be reconstructed
The Texas Department of Transportation receives federal funding assistance under the State Block
Grant Program to allocate as grant assistance to state airports Grant assistance will be for 90% of the
eligible project costs The maximum obligation of TxDOT payable under this program will be
$500,000 00 The obligation of the City is 10% of the total eligible project cost, or $55,556 00
The Department of Engineering will design the project and solicit bids for construction
