HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 19072-03-2010Ordinance No 19072-03-2010 AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE WATER CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $991,477 00, FROM AVAILABLE FUNDS, FOR THE NORTHSIDE III 16 INCH WATERLINE INSTALLATION PROJECT, PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS SECTION 1 That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2009-2010 in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Water Capital Projects Fund in the amount of $991,477 00, from available funds, for the Northside III 16" Waterline Installation Project. SECTION 2. That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect. Authorize the transfer of $991,477 00 from the Lake Worth Capital Improvement Fund (Gas Wells) to the Water Capital Projects Fund, 3 Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the Water Capital Projects Fund in the amount of $991,477 00 from available funds, and 4 Authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with William J Schultz, Inc., d/b/a Circle "C" Construction Company, for the Northside III Sixteen inch Waterline Installation Project in an amount not to exceed $913,405 00 DISCUSSION The Lake Worth Capital Improvements Implementation Plan includes a project for the installation of approximately 7780 linear feet of 16 inch waterline from north to Azle Avenue along the south side of Interstate Highway 820 to east of Quebec Street. This line is necessary to provide water volume, pressure and an alternate feed for properties in the northeast Lake Worth area The project was advertised for bid in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram on August 20, 2009, and August 27, 2009 On October 1, 2009, the following bids were received BIDDER William J Schultz, Inc , d/b/a Circle "C" Construction Company Gin-Spen, Inc W R. The total amount requested for this project is $991,477 00 William J Schultz, Inc., d/b/a Circle "C" Construction Company, is in compliance with the City's MNVBE Ordinance by committing to 10 percent M/WBE participation The City's goal on this project is 10 percent.
