HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 14008Ordinance No '~(~ AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $100,000 00 FROM AVAILABLE FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING THE UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK MONITORING PROJECT, PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS SECTION 1 That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for the Fiscal Year 1999-00 and ui the Budget of the Crty Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Environmental Project Fund in the amount of $100,000 00 from available funds for the purpose of funding the Underground Storage Tank Monitoring Project. SECTION 2. That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent junsdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remauung portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain m full force and effect. SECTION 3 That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No 13886 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are m direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, mwhich instance said conflicting provisions of said pnor ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 4 This ordinance shall take effect and be m full force and effect and after the date of its passage, and rt is so ordained. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations by $100,000 in the UST Electronic Monitoring Project to replace and upgrade electronic monitoring equipment required for leak detection for the City's underground storage tanks. DISCUSSION The City of Fort Worth dispenses about 3 5 million gallons of gasoline and diesel fuel each year Much of this fuel is dispensed through the forty underground storage tanks that the City owns and operates Federal and State regulations require leak detection systems for these underground storage tanks. Leak detection systems consist of electronic probes and related electronic monitoring equipment. It is necessary to replace and upgrade electronic monitoring devices on these underground storage tanks in order to maintain compliance with the Federal and State leak detection requirements The current purchase agreement with the Stovall Petroleum Equipment Company that provides the maintenance of fuel storage and dispensing equipment will be utilized to provide the required services.
