AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING, CLOSING AND
EXTINGUISHING A PORTION OF MARGARET STREET, FACTORY PLACE
ADDITION, TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR
REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID LAND, REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS
SECTION 1
THAT Margaret Street between Pershing Avenue and Birchman Avenue, being
approximately 60 foot wide by 250 foot long and containing approximately 14,348
square feet, located between Blocks 59 and 60, Factory Place Addition, as recorded in
Volume 204A, Page 101, Deed Records, Tarrant County, Texas, and as more
specifically described in Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference
be and the same is vacated, abandoned and permanently closed and extinguished
SECTION 2
That the fee to the land in the above described street right-of-way is hereby
released and shall revert to the adjacent owner as provided by law, SAVE AND
EXCEPT that easements are retained for any and all existing and .prospective utilities as

well as access to these utilities

SECTION 3
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed
SECTION 4
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after
the date of the date of its passage, and it is so ordained

SUBJECT PARTIAL VACATION OF MARGARET STREET (VA-99-001), BLOCKS 59 AND 60,
FACTORY PLACE ADDITION, FORT WORTH, TEXAS
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached ordinance vacating Margaret Street
between Pershing Avenue and Buchman Avenue, being approximately 60 feet wide by 250 feet long,
and containing approximately 14,348 square feet, located between Blocks 59 and 60 in the Factory
Place Addition, as recorded in Volume 204A, Page 101 of the Deed Records, Tarrant County, Texas.,
for the sum of $14,292.
DISCUSSION
Christ Chapel Bible Church, owner of Blocks 59 and 60, has requested the vacation to combine its
properties. A replat has been filed Utility and access easements will be retained over the vacated
segment. On January 27, 1999, the City Plan Commission recommend approval of this request.
Reviewing City departments and public utility companies have raised no objection to this vacation
This request is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 7
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION
The Real Property Division of the Engineering Department will be responsible for the collection and
deposit of the $14,292 due to the City under this agreement.
