AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE
SPECIAL TRUST FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $45,817 77 FROM AVAILABLE FUNDS FOR THE
PURPOSE OF FUNDING THE FORT WORTH BUSINESS ASSISTANCE CENTER OPERATIONS,
PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF
PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH,
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS.
SECTION 1
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for the Fiscal Year 1997-98 and in the Budget of
the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Special Trust Fund in the amount of
$45,817 77 from available funds for the purpose of funding the Fort Worth Business Assistance Center operations.
SECTION 2.
Should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a
court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or
parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 13111 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the
same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and
appropriations, inwhich instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly
repealed.
SECTION 4
This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect and after the date of its passage, and it is so ordained.

Subject ADOPT APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE TO FUND THE BUSINESS ASSISTANCE
CENTER
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council
1 Authorize the transfer of $29,136 11 from the General Fund to the Special Trust Fund, and
2. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations by
$45,817 77 from available funds, upon receipt.
DISCUSSION
The Business Assistance Center (BAC), under the direction of Strategy 2000, has been funded by a
grant from the U S Economic Development Administration since 1995 After June 1, 1998, the BAC's
operation will be funded with Community Development Grant monies. M&C G-12193, dated April 28,
1998, appropriated $29,136 11 from income received through a workshop sponsored by the U S Small
Business Administration and income from leasing space in the BAC office to the DFW/Arlington Minority
Business Development Center This appropriation is requested to be transferred to the Special Trust
Fund to be used on the BAC's operations that cannot be funded through the grant. Additional rent in
the amount of $16,681 66 is anticipated from the William Mann Community Development Corporation
per M&C L-12252, dated May 19, 1998 This revenue is also requested to be appropriated in the
Special Trust Fund for operations not funded by the grant.
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION
The Finance Director certifies that upon approval of the above recommendations and adoption of the
attached appropriation ordinance, funds will be available in the current operating budget, as
appropriated, in the Special Trust Fund upon receipt of funds.
