SUBJECT AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NAME OF THE DEPARTMENT OF FISCAL
SERVICES TO THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached Ordinance changing the name of the
Department of Fiscal Services in the City Code to the Department of Finance.
AISCUSSION
Six years ago, the name of the Department of Finance was changed to the Department of Fiscal
Services. The name was changed in an attempt to provide a more comprehensive description of the
functions and activities assigned to the department. Experience has indicated, however, that "Finance"
is more easily understood and descriptive of the assigned functions.
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION
The Director of Fiscal Services certifies that this action will have no material effect on City funds.
