AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE
SEWER CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,420,753.50 FROM AVAILABLE
FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING A CONTRACT WITH CONATSER CONSTRUCTION,
INC., FOR SANITARY SEWER REHABILITATION CONTRACT XLVII, PROVIDING FOR A
SEVERABILTTY CLAUSE, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES
AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS
SECTION 1
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for the Fiscal Year 1997-98 and in the Budget of
the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Sewer Capital Projects Fund in the
amount of $1,420,753.50 from available funds for the purpose of funding a contract with Conatser Construction, Inc., for
Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Contract XLVII.
SECTION 2.
Should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a
court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way unpa~r the remaining portions, sections, or
parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 13111 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the
same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and
appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly
repealed.
SECTION 4
This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect and after the date of rts passage, and it is so ordained.

It is recommended that the City Council
1 Authorize the transfer of $1,420,753.50 from the Water and Sewer Operating Fund to the Sewer
Capital Project Fund, and
2. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the
Sewer Capital Project Fund in the amount of $1,420,753.50 from available #unds; and
3 Authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with Conatser Construction, Inc. in the amount of
$1,269,323.50 for Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Contract XLVII (47)
AISCUSSION
On February 6, 1996 (M&C C-15270), the City Council authorized the City Manager to execute an
engineering agreement with Halff Associates, Inc. for the preparation of plans and specifications for the
rehabilitation of the following sanitary sewer lines. M-142 (1500 Block of Rockwood Lane), L-1109
(2700 Block of Camilla Street); L-1774 (700 Block of Woodrow Street); L-3752 (2500 Block of Camilla
Street) and M-194 (3600 to 3900 Block of Fairfax Drive and Brookline Street). For design and
construction purposes, the lines were grouped together and designated Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation
Contract XLII (47)
The major work to be performed under this contract includes the installation of 10,200 linear feet of
sanitary sewer pipes ranging in size from 8 to 18 inches in diameter and related appurtenances. The
project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 9, Mapsco 62N, 78E and 92G
The Water Department and the Transportation and Public Works Department will share the cost of the
HMAC overlay to be installed on Shackleford Street (from Algerita 600 feet northward) and Algerita
Street (from Shackleford 270 feet eastward) after sewer installation is completed
The project was advertised on May 21 and 28, 1998 On June 18, 1998, the following bids were
received

In addition to the contract cost, $130,000 00 is required for inspection and survey, and $40,000 00 is
provided for project contingencies.
Conatser Construction, Inc. is in compliance with the City's M/WBE Ordinance by committing to 26%
M/VVBE participation The City's goal on this project is 25%.
