ORDINANCE CANVASSING RETURNS OF
FEBRUARY 7, 1998 BOND ELECTION AND
DECLARING RESULTS OF ELECTION
THE STATE OF TEXAS §
COUNTIES OF TARRANT AND DENTON §
CITY OF FORT WORTH §
WHEREAS, the City Council of said City ordered an election to be held in
said City on February 7, 1998, on the PROPOSITIONS hereinafter stated, and
WHEREAS, said City Council investigated all matters pertaining to said
election, including the ordering, giving notice, officers, holding and making
returns of said election; and
WHEREAS, the election officers who held said election have duly made
the returns of the result thereof, and said returns have been duly delivered to
said City Council, and
WHEREAS, it is hereby officially found and determined that the holding of
the meeting at which this Ordinance is passed was open to the public, and public
notice of the time, place and purpose of said meeting was given, all as required
by Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS

That the City Council officially finds and determines that said election was
duly ordered, that proper notice of said election was duly given, that proper
election officers were duly appointed prior to said election, that said election was
duly held, that due returns of the resu{t of said election have been made and
delivered, and that the City Council has duly canvassed said returns, all in
accordance with the law and the Ordinance calling said election.

That the City Council officially finds and determines that the following
votes were cast at said election, on the submitted PROPOSITIONS by the
resident, qualified electors of said City, who voted at the election.
PROPOSITION NO. 1
14.405 VOTES FOR STREET AND STORM SEWER IIMPROVEMENT
BONDS IN THE AGGREGATE SUM OF $80,000,000
1,150 VOTES AGAINST STREET AND STORM SEWER IIMPROVEMENT
BONDS IN THE AGGREGATE SUM OF $80,000,000
PROPOSITION NO. 2
13.629 VOTES FOR FORT WORTH CONVENTION CENTER,
COWTOWN COLISEUM, AND WILL ROGERS
MEMORIAL COMPLEX IMPROVEMENT BONDS
IN THE AGGREGATE SUM OF $20,700,000
1,835 VOTES AGAINST FORT WORTH CONVENTION CENTER,
COWTOWN COLISEUM, AND WILL ROGERS
MEMORIAL COMPLEX IMPROVEMENT BONDS
IN THE AGGREGATE SUM OF $20,700,000

14.158 VOTES FOR FIRE SAFETY IMPROVEMENT BONDS IN THE
AGGREGATE SUM OF $4,800,000
1.256 VOTES AGAINST FIRE SAFETY IMPROVEMENT BONDS IN THE
AGGREGATE SUM OF $4,800,000
PROPOSITION NO. 5
13.712 VOTES FOR LIBRARY SYSTEM IMPROVEMENT BONDS IN THE
AGGREGATE SUM OF $2,700,000
1,663 VOTES AGAINST LIBRARY SYSTEM IMPROVEMENT BONDS IN
THE AGGREGATE SUM OF $2,700,000

That the City Council officially finds, determines and declares the results
of said election to be that .PROPOSITIONS NOS 1, 2, 3, 4 AND 5, so submitted,
have received a favorable majority vote in all respects and have carried.

That the aforesaid bonds may be issued, and the bond tax pertaining to
the aforesaid bonds may be levied, assessed and collected annually, as voted
and as provided by law

That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from
and after the date of its passage, and it is so ordained.
