AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE
WATER CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $379,642.00 AND IN THE SEWER
CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $206,623 00 FROM AVAILABLE FUNDS FOR
THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING A CONTRACT WITH CONATSER CONSTRUCTION, INC., FOR
WATER LINE REPLACEMENT IN DARLA AVENUE AND BURGESS DRIVE AND WATER AND
SANITARY SEWER LINE REPLACEMENT IN FAWN DRIVE, PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY
CLAUSE, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATNE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND
REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTNE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS.
SECTION 1
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for the Fiscal Year 1997-98 and in the Budget of
the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations the Water Capital Projects Fund in the
amount of $379,642.00 and in the Sewer Capital Projects Fund in the amount of $206,623 00 from available funds for the
purpose of funding a contract with Conatser Construction, Inc., for water line replacement in Darla Avenue and Burgess Drive
and water and sanitary sewer line replacement in Fawn Drive.
SECTION 2.
Should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a
court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or
parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 13111 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the
same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and
appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly
repealed.
SECTION 4
This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect and after the date of its passage, and it is so ordained.

RECOMMENDATION
It is.recommended that the City Council
1 Authorize the transfer of $586,265.00 from the Water and Sewer Operating Fund to the Water
.Capital Project Fund ($379,642.00) and the Sewer Capital Project Fund ($206,623.00), and
2. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the
Water Capital ;Project Fund in the amount ~of $379,642.00, and the Sewer Capital .Project Fund in
the amount of $206,623.00 from available funds, and
' 3 Authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with Conatser Construction, Inc., in the amount of
$541,929 00 for construction of a water and sewer line in Fawn Drive and water lines in Darla and
Burgess Drives.
On May 13, 1997 (M&C C-16041), the City Council authorized the City Manager to execute an
engineering agreement with Metro Tech Engineers Associates, Inc., to prepare plans and specifications
for water and sanitary sewer line replacement in Fawn Drive, and water line replacement in Darla and
Burgess Drive.
The Water Department has determined that the existing water and sanitary sewer line in Fawn Drive
and water line in Darla and Burgess Drives have deteriorated and are in need of replacement.
The major work to be performed under this contract consists of approximately 3,590 L.F of 8-inch water
line and-1:,800 LF of 10-inch anitary sewer line and other appurtenances. Fawn Drive will have an 8-
inch pavement pulverization with 2-inch H.M.A.C under this project.
The following bids for the project-were received on May 14, 1998.

In addition to the contract cost, $50,979.00 is required for inspection and survey, and $25,490.00 is
provided for project contingencies.
Conatser Construction, Inc., is in compliance with the City's M/VVBE Ordinance by committing to 19%
M/V1IBE participation The City's goal on this project is 19%.
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION
TheFinance Director certifies that upon approval and completion of recommendation 1, and adoption of
the attached appropriation ordinance, funds will be available in the current capital budgets, as
appropriated, of the Water and Sewer Capital Project Funds.
