AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND
APPROPRIATIONS IN THE SPECIAL TRUST FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF
$181,456.00 FROM INCREASED REVENUES FOR THE PURPOSE OF
FUNDING MAINTENANCE OF BURNETT PARK FOR ONE YEAR
BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1996, PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE,
MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND
REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for the Fiscal Year 1996/97 and in the
Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the
Special Trust Fund in the amount of $181,456.00 from available funds for the purpose of funding the maintenance
of Burnett Park for one year beginning October 1,1996.
SECTION 2.
Should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any
reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the
remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and
remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3.
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 12629 and all other ordinances and appropriations
amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with
such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances
and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 4.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so
ordained.

SUBJECT CONTRIBUTION FROM DOWNTOWN FORT WORTH, INC FOR MAINTENANCE OF
BURNETT PARK FY 96-97
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the City Manager to
1 Accept a contribution from Downtown Fort Worth, Inc in the amount of 590,728 00 to
offset one half year's operating and maintenance costs for Burnett Park, and
2 Adopt the attached appropriations ordinance increasing estimated receipts and
appropriations by 590,728 00 in the Special Trust Fund from increased revenues
DISCUSSION
Downtown Fort Worth, Inc has authorized a contribution to the City of Fort Worth in the amount
of 5181,456 00 to offset the expenses associated with operating Burnett Park for aone-year
period beginning October 1, 1996 The remaining payment of 590,728 will be submitted by
September 1, 1997 The contribution amount covers three seasonal color plantings with all
required soil amenities such as fertilizer, peat moss and pesticides, and all park maintenance
Also included in the contribution amount are funds to cover water treatment chemicals,
mechanical repairs and utilities, as well as special seasonal lighting and winter over-seeding of
turf All labor costs associated with work outlined above are funded by this gift
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION
The Director of Fiscal Services certifies that upon the approval of the above recommendation and
adoption of the attached appropriations ordinance, the funds required for this expenditure will
be available in the current operating budget, as appropriated, of the Special Trust Fund The
Parks and Community Services Department is responsible for the collection and deposit of these
funds
