AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE
STREET IMPROVEMENTS FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $62,000.00 FROM AVAILABLE FUNDS
FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING THE HILLSIDE DEVELOPMENT HOUSING PROJECT
ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OVERRUNS, PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE,
MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL
PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS.
SECTION 1
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for the Fiscal Year 1996-97 and in the Budget of
the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Street Irnprovements Fund in the
amount of $62,000.00 from available funds for the purpose of funding the Hillside Development Housing Project
environmental clean-up cost ovemms.
SECTION 2.
Should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a
court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgement shall in no way impavr the remaining portions, sections, or
parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 12629 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the
same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and
appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly
repealed.
SECTION 4
This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect and after the date of its passage, and it is so ordained.

CLEAN-UP COSTS ON THE HILLSIDE DEVELOPMENT HOUSING PROJECT
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council
1 Adopt the attached supplemental appropriation ordinance increasing General Fund
appropriations by $62,000 00 and decreasing the unreserved., undesignated fund balance
by the same amount, and
2 Approve the transfer of $62,000 00 from the General Fund to the Street Improvements
Fund, and
3 Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and
appropriations in the Street Improvements Fund by $62,000 00 for partial funding of the
environmental clean-up for the Hillside project, and
4 Authorize the City Manager to reimburse Downtown Fort Worth Initiatives $62,000 00 for
additional environmental clean-up costs on the Hillside project
DISCUSSION
On September 5, 1996 (M&C G-15634), City Council approved a total of $2,058,120 00 for the
Hillside Development Housing Project from City funds ($1,534,120 001 and Community
Development Block Grant Funds ($524,000 00) These funds included estimated costs to cover
the necessary environmental clean-up
During construction of the project, it was determined that the extent of the environmental clean-
upfor the Hillside project far exceeded estimated costs An additional $62,000 00 will be needed
to fund the environmental clean-up cost overrun

FISCAL INFORMATlON1CERTIFICATION
The Director of Fiscal Services certifies that upon adoption of the attached appropriation
ordinances and approval of the above recommendations, funds will be available in the current
budget, as appropriated, of the Street Improvements Fund Upon completion of this
recommendation, the unreserved, undesignated fund balance of the General Fund will be
$23,736,499 00
