HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 13045Ordinance No ~(./ S AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE WATER CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $83,520 OS FROM INCREASED REVENUE FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING ENGINEERING AGREEMENT WITH DUNAWAY & ASSOCIATES FOR WATER MAIN REHABILITATION CONTRACT "97 DD", PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS. SECTION 1 That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for the Fiscal Year 1996-97 and in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Water Capital Projects Fund in the amount of $82,520 OS from increased revenue for the purpose of funding an engineering agreement with Dunaway & Associates for Water Main Rehabilitation Contract "97 DD" SECTION 2. Should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgement shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remauung provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3 That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 12629 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 4 This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect and after the date of its passage, and it is so ordained. APPROVED AS TO FORM AND LEGALITY ~~ Assistant Attorney 6~,~1s ~- Date Adopted ~~,~~ i`"I i~~7 Effective City of Fort Wordy Texas Mayor and Council Communication 06/17/97 **C-16107 30-97DD 1 of 2 SUBJECT APPROPRIATIONS ORDINANCE AND AWARD OF ENGINEERING AGREEMENT TO DUNAWAY & ASSOCIATES, INC ,FOR WATER MAIN REHABILITATION CONTRACT "97 DD" RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council 1 Authorize the City Manager to transfer 583,520 05 from the Water and Sewer Operating Fund to the Water Capital Projects Fund, and 2 Adopt the attached appropriations ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the Water Capital Projects Fund in the amount of 583,520 05 from increased revenue, and 3 Authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with Dunaway & Associates, Inc , for a fee not to exceed 579,520 05 to prepare plans and specifications for the Water Main Rehabilitation Contract "97 DD " DISCUSSION The work to be performed under this contract includes the preparation of plans and specifications for rehabilitation of the following water mains Grandview Drive (Meadowbrook to Lancaster Avenue), Hampshire Street (Canton Street to Weiler Blvd ), Old Handley Road.-(Benton Str-eet to Roselane Street), Stalcup Street (Fitzhugh Street to Pinson Street), Berry Hill Street (Canberra Court to Canberra Court) and Illinois Street (E Berry Street to Schieffer Street) Dunaway Associates, Inc ,located at 1501 Merrimac Circle, Suite 100, Fort Worth, Texas 76107, proposes to perform the design work for this project for a lump sum fee of 579,520 05 Staff considers this fee to be fair and reasonable for the scope of services proposed Dunaway Associates, Inc , is in compliance with the City's M/WBE Ordinance by committing to 30% M/WBE participation The City's goal for this project is 16% `"This :p:~bje~t_ is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 5, Mapsco 79C, 78G, 66W, 78S and 77X In addition to the contract amount, 54,000 00 is required for plan review by the pepartrY'ent of Engineering i ,~~;.,:, 4. .;t ~ ~ ... ,h ' iL, ... 3 ~..
